SWEET BOY

Your still here
Always to remain; never to stray
Your mama’s baby
Mama’s sweet, sweet baby boy
You’re eyes were full of life
Now so dim and grey

I wiped away all the tears
Swept away all the nightmares
I carried all your fears

Why can’t I heal all your wounds?
Why can’t I wash away the scars?

You’re still a part of me
I am still captivated by your childish presence
Time will never erase my love
I will never want to let go
Forever to hold your hand
Through all the years

I hid all my tears
Hushed my own nightmares
I kept away the boogeymen

Not so sure you’re really here
So far gone
Mama’s sweet, sweet boy
Where have you gone?
Mamma’s sweet baby boy

We share all your tears
We share all your fears
