Wanted:  Writer (naturally)

Genre: Short / Horror

Theme: Short Zombie movie based in the present day.

Having worked together quite well on the 2 in 1 short Stalkers me and GolemCreep have decided to do a similar project, but this time involving Zombies.

Currently my story deals with Zombies in medieval times, the dark ages or whatever you want to call it, and his is set in the future.

So what we want, if anyone is interested in joining in, is someone to write a short (25 pages) about zombies in the present...that way we have all three time periods covered

Past (me) - Present (?) - Future (GC)

PM Zack (GolemCreep) for more info...it was his idea after all  ;D

Actually you pretty much summed everything. I have no more info to give. Anyone who is interested, let one of us know!

I'd be interested, if it's omly about 25 pages or so. I'd try and get it uploaded when I can if you want.

Okay I guess your hired then.

Small change to the plan. Zack has been having difficulties writing his script because "Zombies are not his thing" So I will be doing both the past and future Zombie scripts.

Of course if anyone else wants to join in I'm sure there is enough room for 1 or 2 more zombie stories, just make sure to tell me what time period it will be based in so I can put them in order.

He bails on his idea after one day?

This is exactly why we ask that you guys not clutter up the boards with half-baked ideas.

Once you've made substantial progress on a project -- that is when you start promoting it.

Like with "Buckets of Blood".  Once they had the scripts complete, then they started to generate some buzz, and then they released it.

If you guys are going to lift the idea, you should also follow their model.

My script just wasn't coming together. We weren't trying to promote the script, we were simply trying to find "help". Again Darren, sorry I didn't come through with the script.

Oh I'm doing fine on my script and almost have the first draft complete, so doing an extra 25 page script will not be too much hassle.

Oh and I thought this was the place to find people to collaborate with and the work in progress was where you promote what you have written so far.

Any deadline you guys want on this? I'll make a start on it today, I moved out yesterday, and is there any set story they all have to follow, like the same disaster that turns people into zombies or are they all different?
Posted by: Gaara, June 6th, 2007, 7:08am; Reply: 8
nope no deadline just a send it when you are finished deal.

As for story, it is entirely up to you. Think of it like shows and films such as Creepshow, Tales from the Crypt or Tales from the Darkside.

All the zombie stories will be stand alone ones with their own characters and explanations for the rising of the dead, the only thing that joins all of them together will be that they are about Zombies.

Is this still happening? Because I've got an idea for a World War II zombie story and I think it would fit into this perfectly.

..Willing to pitch in if wanted...
Posted by: Gaara, August 28th, 2007, 5:30pm; Reply: 11
Still happening. It only stopped due to computer issues. But now that I am back and running you can consider it full steam ahead.

Oh and Toran...sure you can join in. I don't really have a limit on writers so the more the merrier really. Plus there is no deadline so just take your time as it will all be submitted when all the writers feel they are ready.

Alright, awesome. I'll start now. :)

You guys are doing zombies? I like zombies...could I join in as well? Please let me know what direction you'd like me to go in (you had mentioned earlier about dealing with specific time periods and page lengths) and I'd be thrilled to contribute something to your project. Thanks!

yeah you can join.

Rules

1. Must be between 25 - 35 pages in length

2. Must specify a time period, e.g. Wild West, World War One, Ancient Rome or whatever. Future ones are also allowed

3. Must have zombies (naturally)

Apart from that just have fun. You can do any style you want whether it is a straight forward horror to a high kicking crouching tiger style zombie flick, and set it anywhere you want..from feudal Japan, to modern America to a spaceship orbiting a distant star...it is entirely up to you.

P.S.  While there is no deadline for the actual script there is one for people who want to join...September 20...that's right if you want in declare your interest by Sep 20.

The scripts will all be submitted when they are all finished and the writers are happy with them.

Oh and the reason for the time period thing...well this is Zombies through the ages so they are going to go in chronological order from ancient zombies to space ones

Cool...I'm gonna stake a claim on the US Wild West Era, Zombies on the Wild Frontier...I think this is a great concept, and should be a great story when all is said and done.

Heh kewl I look forward to reading it when your done.

Oh and if people are worried that this could end up as a 50 hour long script (doubtful we will get enough scripts for that I know, but it might happen) I assure you it won't.

It will all be split up into episodes with 3 tales each. This means the very first story in the first episode will be the one with the most ancient zombies...and the last of the last episode...well you work it out.

Alright, I'll know how to put them in order.

Anyways I just wanted to say, submit your Zombie Short to me at: tormaster2@hotmail.com

Please try to submit it in .Doc
When submitting your script in e-mail, tell me the Short Title, Your Full Name, and what time period its set in.
Posted by: darthbrion, August 29th, 2007, 5:23pm; Reply: 18
I'll submit one.  I'll set it in the 50's if that's cool.
Posted by: Gaara, August 29th, 2007, 5:29pm; Reply: 19
Yeah that's cool.
Posted by: Toran, August 29th, 2007, 5:32pm; Reply: 20
So are we going to do it like:

Two zombie shorts -- submit it in.
Two other Zombie Shorts -- submit it in

Like that?
Posted by: Gaara, August 29th, 2007, 5:42pm; Reply: 21
We wait till all the scripts are done,
then we put them all in chronological order
They are then split into groups of 3
each group of 3 is joined into a single script containing all 3 stories
Then we submit the lot in one go.

Ahh okay.

Yeah, I'm still working on mine, and other projects too and trying to get full time internet and Celtx. I might have to edit it once I'm done because at the rate its going it might be longer than 35 pages.
