Not sure if anyone's come across this yet, but I just noticed it and thought I would share.

Netflix is now offering instant online viewing access to over 4,000 movies and television shows with your subscription.  You have to download a viewer, but the picture quality is really good and there are some good titles there.

A definite recommend to all the other cinephiles out there.

Another reason not to leave my house. I’ve been messing with the Watch Now feature for a few weeks. It’s a neat idea, but right now the their selection really disappoints. Soft-Core Porno and Old Westerns. Oh and if you don't have Netflix, stop reading and get it now.

That reminds me! I joined April 06. I still have the first three dvd's sitting on the table unwatched! I honestly didn't see the usefulness of Netflix. I guess it just wasn't for me.

What's wrong with cable? They seem to have the same stuff...

I'm being serious btw. I just don't see why everyone's crazy about it.

It's about availability for me.

I have an MVP account through the Hollywood video near my house as well, but they don't have a lot of the titles that Netflix has so I use both.

I think Instant Access is still in its infant stages, but I found some alright titles on there so far from just looking (popped up Happy Gilmore just to take it for a test drive) and the fact that they just lowered the monthly cost by 3 bucks helps to sweeten the deal.

I joined Blockbuster Online and am very happy with it.  With it, I can get the older movies that you can't find in the store.

It's a shame that the stores don't carry The Maltese Falcon, but every Paris Hilton movie is there.

Except "One Night in Paris" but with a little googling, you can find that online. Either way, I'm not a netflix guy since it we use the MVP or something like that. It's easier for my family since we watch so many movies and live only a few blocks away.

The blockbusters is across town and doesn't have the selection Hollywood has.

I have over 50 movies currently in my Netflix queue.  I need to start watching more movies.  I have gotten lazy mailing back those DVD's.

Thanks to instant access, I relived childhood memories by watching old Voltron episodes.

I've had both Netflix and Blockbster for awhile now, and since I don't have either cable or satellite, it works well for me. My queues for both Netflix and Blockbuster generally have about 300 titles in them. Yeah, I'll probably never get to all of them.
