Everybody's going crazy for this fight? I know girls who usually only watch Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives who are planning get-togethers to see this. Even though it's airing at 2 in the morning or something.

I've never gotten Boxing though, but I might catch the highlights.

Kessler lost.

I'm looking forward to watching Floyd Mayweather (38-0) square off against
Ricky Hatton (43-0) on December 6. It should be a ripper.

Man, why did you have to bring that up now. I was almost over it  ;D

Yeah, this one should be really good. While I don't like him, I still think Pretty Boy Floyd will be too much for Hatton.

That seems to be the general consensus, but you should never underestimate a man with a record of 43-0.

My only fear is, that since Hatton is a hugger and Mayweather a runner, that we'll might witness a somewhat too tactical bout.

With 31 KOs to his credit, Hatton has the ability to put him away with one good punch. Check this out, it has Mayweather ranked, pound-for-pound, as the world's best boxer and Hatton as the 6th best. As far as super bouts go, you couldn't ask for much more than that.

POUND-FOR-POUND TOP 10

1. Floyd Mayweather - Welterweight
United States (38 wins, 0 losses, 0 draws, 24KOs)
Mayweather outfoxed Oscar de la Hoya in their Las Vegas super-fight to become a five-weight world champion and now faces Britain's Ricky Hatton in December.

2. Manny Pacquiao - Super featherweight
Philippines (45-3-2, 35KOs)
Pacquiao, who has little regard for belts, forced the great Marco Antonio Barrera into retirement with a demolition job in October. The most exciting fighter on the planet.

3. Juan Manuel Marquez - Super featherweight
Mexico (47-3-1, 35KOs)
Marquez gave a counter-punching masterclass in beating Marco Antonio Barrera in March and outclassed Rocky Juarez in November. A rematch with Pacquiao on the cards?

4. Joe Calzaghe - Super middleweight
Wales (44-0, 32KOs)
Calzaghe looked awesome in beating Mikkel Kessler and claiming the undisputed super middleweight crown. He's now hunting Bernard Hopkins.

5. Bernard Hopkins - Light heavyweight
United States (48-4-1, 32KOs)
Hopkins beat Antonio Tarver on his 175lb debut and followed that with a points victory over Winky Wright. Joe Calzaghe could be next.

6. Ricky Hatton - Light welterweight
England (43-0, 31KOs)
Hatton will get his dream match against Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas in December, perhaps the biggest fight involving a Brit for a generation.

7. Miguel Cotto - Welterweight
Puerto Rico (30-0, 25KOs)
Former light-welterweight world champion Cotto beat a resurgent Shane Mosley on 9 November and could now meet the winner of Hatton v Mayweather.

8. Winky Wright - Light heavyweight
United States (51-4-1, 25KOs)
Wright dropped a unanimous decision to Bernard Hopkins in July, his first loss in seven years, although many thought it was far closer than that.

9. Israel Vazquez - Super bantamweight
Mexico (42-4, 31KOs)
Vazquez reclaimed his WBC belt from Rafael Marquez in August and may opt for a unification clash instead of a rubber match next.

10. Rafael Marquez - Super bantamweight
Mexico (37-4, 33KOs)
Marquez lost a thrilling rematch to Israel Vazquez in August and in doing so lost his WBC belt. However, still a class act at 122lb.

Hatton's problem is that he hasn't really faced anybody who's anywhere near the same league as Pretty Boy Floyd. Mayweather on the other hand has gone up against some of the best one's around - and beaten all of them.

I think Hatton's rating is a little biased, but I still hope he knocks out Mayweather - it's about time somebody shuts up that trashmouth.

I guess I'm leaning towards wanting Hatton to win, but I'm not too attached to the outcome. I'm just looking forward to watching a great fight.

Sorry about the double post, but this fight is actually going to happen in the USA on Saturday December the 8th. My earlier information was incorrect.  It's probably best to check your local guides for details.

It was a hell of a show though. The atmosphere in the arena was electric. You had two great fighters going hammer and tongs and the Barmy Army had the joint rocking.

You should check out the Hatton versus Mayweather pages on youtube. The bitterness between the Hatton and Mayweather fans is hilarious. ;D

I'm from Manchester, so I was firmly behind Hatton.

I was always worried that he simply wouldn't have the ability to match Mayweather, particularly fighting above his natural weight.

He is a junior welterweight and the move up stripped him of his power and strength which his style is completely based on.

Oh well, fair play to him for taking such a hard fight, but it was a couple of steps too far IMO.
