You'll see some very long threads come of this, but this is because I'm merging oft-asked-question threads into long "there's no way this thread won't answer the question" threads...but hey, if there's still a question, you can add to that thread until it hits around 120 posts, then we'll create the sequel.

I think, story formulation and character development suffer more here than formatting.  Most software covers most of the formating issues for you.

What I keep seeing is screenplays, where the characters have no depth, or there are a lot of scenes that are just filler.  These give the screenplay page count, but they can quickly be cut.

I'd like to see more stuff on story development.  

I have read so many screen plays that have good format, but who have stories and characters that are just not interesting.

I think it's a matter of taste as to what stories people find interesting/not interesting.

I'm not too sure how successful threads on story development would be.  Sure, you can talk about outlines and different dramatic situations, but when it comes down to it the story is still in the hands and skill of the writer of the script.

There are tons of topics in here that I haven't put together, and plenty of story topics. Fret not. Within the years this board has been compiling posts, almost everything is answered. But as I said...400+ posts is a lot to weed through.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I've considered this for quite a while, and it's about time I finally undertook it. There's a long way to go, however, as you can probably tell.

Oh, and "we sees" have several topics of their own as well to merge.

After much too long off, I've added TV stuff and merged the treatments, outlines, and synopses threads into one big one. More to come today as I've rooting through it.

EDIT 1: I've also stripped the "We see" debate out of this thread and popped it into the proper thread.

I don't know if you're taking suggestions or if you already ahve it all planned out, but a question that seems to pop up frequently is on title pages.  i could be wrong, but I think that could be a helpful one.

Not weird at all and titles pages are frequently asked, so yes I'll do that next. I am definitely taking suggestions since there are so many topics.
