I do, but there is no way on God's green earth I'm saying what it is cause it turned out horrible, a few members here had the unfortunate opportunity to see it, I still feel bad for them, sorry guys  :B

I've had two shorts produced and several others that are in production, post-production, or pre-production.

i got one picked up...and i only got 3 shorts on here (im not the most creative person).

if you have any skill at all... your shorts are bound to get picked up by somebody.

whether they turn out any good or not however is completely another matter.

It was an assignment, so somewhat different than Alan Moore's situation.

I adapted a script I wrote in 2000 into a 20 minute short. It had its moments, but I know a lot more about writing now, so I cringe a little when I think about how cliched it was.

I've had one short produced in animation, then had another guy work on another short, but had to quit because his paying gigs took too much of his time.

Has anyone used an agent? If so, what was your experience?

I honestly can't recall anyone on here having an agent.

Nope.  No agent.  I've pretty much went hunting for all the filmmakers, myself.

I don't think anyone here has sold to the studios.

In this business, most people get somewhere taking baby steps.  Work on getting some shorts produced so you can show them around when you want to sell a feature.

The first and only thing i ever sold was a feature, which proves anything can happen, also that there is no God.

I know one person here that had his script optioned by a major studio, but he did not use an agent, only lawyers.

A combination of the two.  Not a studio, not next to nothing.

Oh Jordan, there is a God, He just wasn't being kind to the person who you sold your script to.

I had a short script made into a film. My script, "Daisy." It's an old script, and I didn't know what to expect, but I was satisfied, and I didn't really expect anything great, but it was cool to see it put into a film.

Wow!  It feels so good to be back.  School's finally out and I'm ready to get back to reading and writing some scripts.

Anyway, I've had a short purchased and it is now in post production.  I've seen small bits of footage from it and it blew me away.

Another I've had optioned by a producer in New York who was suppose to take it to the studios.  That's all but dead now.

I haven't sold a script, but I have filmed one. Though -- it was incredibly horrible. And if you watch it, it'll melt your eyes away.

Is there any one who's not from US or Canada or live outside US or Canada?? I'm courious cause I'm not from either of them

I'm from the UK (England, to be precise).

Though my only "success" so far (only written a few shorts) is limited to a few US film students asking to film one of my scripts (for free), so I can't help if you're looking for insight into the UK film-making process.

It's all still a mystery to me.

Hopefully not for much longer. I intend to write a decent script one day.

(Then I intend to get my Internet connection sorted out properly, so that people can actually read my script!)

The price varies depending on if you have a manager, agent, or lawyer, also depending on how much a producer pays you.  Generally speaking when you use all 3, including taxes and commissions, you already lose, if I recall correctly 65% of your check to those taxes.

But I haven't had any of my scripts produced, I can only tell you based on what I've been taught in FTV60, not through first hand experience, sorry.

I actually wondering how my fate as foreigner will be decide :D

btw, talking about produced film. In 2002 me and my friends were gathering some story idea, and I was the one who's in charge to write the script. I dunno nothing about scriptwriting format that day, neverthless, the movie is shoot and produced for the Indonesian Independent Film Festival. We didnt win, but the film was nominated as 10 best film in the competition.

And that's my only "success" in the movie.

I'm actually going to film my own short film over Christmas break.

I am writing, staring, filming, and editing it all by myself.  I'm expecting it to be very very bad.

But I'm not trying to do anything serious with it.  After all, you will never learn until you jump in head first and try it.

If I'm not too embarrassed, maybe I will show it...to one or two people.  :p

No haven't had anything filmed yet, but have had 3 feature scripts go through pre production rewrite hell to the point where they no longer resembled the original script, and every element the producers found so exciting at first were somehow elements that needed to be removed...go figure.

Of course, once they were rewritten to the point of insanity, each one died in preproduction lol. Hmmm, I think this needs a thread of it's own...

I just had another one of my shorts picked up.
I have a good feeling that this one will make it all the way through production ;D and it will be something that my kids and grandkids will like to see.

I've had many potential producers want to film my shorts, but as of now, only one has ever been filmed and it didn't turn out that great.
