I'm sure there MUST be film score fans here... long time film score lover here. I've got a huge score CD collection, so, I might be a bit obsessive about it.

Jerry Goldsmith was and is my all time favorite composer. I'd always hoped to get a script into production that would end up being scored by him.

Anyone else?

I must admit I have a weakness for Elliot Goldenthal scores, though I'm not a collector of OST's in any way.

I like Eric Serra in the Big Blue and Leon, Morricone in The Thing, Vangelis for Blade Runner, Clint Mansel for Requiem for a Dream and Pi, Danny Elfman for Beetlejuice.

Probably a lot others but I can't think of any right now.

I absolutely loved David Julyan's score for The Descent. It's a really comforting feeling from most of the scenes, and can easily put you to sleep, while others (for the scare parts) either sound like old cultural music (like drums can be similar to Native American music). He's a great composer and the movie is awesome, also.

Anything either Ennio Morricone does, and John Williams as well. James Horner with Aliens and Howard Shore for The Silence of the Lambs.

Also the scores for The Shining and Full Metal Jacket, so atmospheric, you don't really even notice that they're there. You feel them more than you hear them. Very subtle, very well done.

I love John Carpenter scores, been pretty tough to find them but I have a nice little collection now.  Halloween III is probably one of my favourite horror soundtracks.

Quite a few movie soundtracks, mostly horror orientated and The Hitcher (1985-86) is a great one for atmosphere.

I do like listening to the old Superman soundtracks now and then aswell as Hanz Zimmers (?) POTC soundtrack, I enjoyed that one.
