After wrestling with Word to format my script. I decided to purchased Final Draft, which I absolutely love! One thing is, it doesn't seem to have a grammar check, at least none that I've noticed.

Two apps I've looked at: WhiteSmoke, and StyleWriter, "seem" pretty good, but I have never used either. Has anyone ever used one of these apps, or any other grammar software? If so, what would you recommend?

I'm not familiar with either one of those, but what does it check?  I've noticed that the grammar check function in Word is generally pretty crappy and inaccurate, even in my day job, and definitely not conducive to screenwriting.  Especially dialogue.

Final Draft is great. When you hit print, a format checker option pops up that is helpfull in terms of catching format errors. As far as basic grammar, I'd just recommed Strunk & Whites Elements of Style or William Zinser's On Writing Well (which reminds me that I should go back and re-read these, too). Vince - if you're comfortable with the Word grammar check open your Final Draft document and then save as an RTF file.  You can then open it in Word.

What I have been doing, is copying a page of text into Word, check grammar, and punctuation, and then make any necessary changes in the Final Draft document. It seems to work, just a little time consuming that's all.
