Hey everyone. Just wanted to share some good news. My script “Side Effects” was produced.

You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I8oazG298U

The producer will take the link down after a while since the film still requires some final touches and it’s being submitted into festivals.

Hope you like it.  :)

{Don's edit...

Nicely done Z! I love seeing scripts turn into films because I like to see what stayed and what went and how it was put onto film. The camera work was really good and the lighting really set the mood of dread...or something like that.

Anyway, it was really good!

Congrats, Mr. Z.

It's well done. I enjoyed the shadow. I remember reading this script. The roach moving is a nice touch.

Hey Matias, that was really great. It was very well shot and edited. The acting was also very good. What was the budget?

Take heart, folks.  If some schmuck pounding on his keyboard in Argentina can do it, so can you.

I must have missed that script, Z, but I read it now.  It is fascinating to see some of the choices they made along the way.

I would encourage others to read the script -- a quick five-pager -- before checking out the film.

I would say they did this one justice, Z.  It looks great, and they did a super job with the music.

I am very pleased for you.

That was brilliant! Great acting, great lights, ground music.

I read the script loved it. Now I'm tempted to read first place.

Hey Z,

They did a great job capturing this script.  Two thumbs up from me!

This is the first film I've seen based on someone's script here at SS and I have to say it was great. Having read the script, I think it was done well. The jittery cinematography and washed-out color scheme I thought fit the story nicely and really established a solid noir-ish/drugged out feel. I liked it a lot as I did the script itself.

Congrats, Matias!

Hey Mr Z.  Congratulations.  That was trippy.

I think this is the first script I've read here at SS that I've seen get produced.

The production values were top-notch.  One thing though -  I'd prefer if they used filtered crowd noise in the background as opposed to music.  The ring of the bell too could be jarring if they timed it with a few quick cuts of him sparring with his opponent.  That's how I pictured it in my mind anyway as I read your script.   Still very well done.

Thanks for the edit, Don, and thanks for running this site; the producer contacted me because he read the script here.

Thanks everyone for taking a look at this. I’m also very pleased with it. Don’t know what the budget was, gonna have to find out.

That was pretty good, Matias.  They did do pretty good with that.  I swear to God I know the mother from somewhere.

Hey, I remember reading this.  Congrats on the flick, Z-man!  The value put into this piece was top notch, I liked it very much!

Hey Z,

Congrats on the production.  I think they did a good job visually on it.  The sound had an echo to it, but it's pretty hard thing to get around in a locker room.

Anyway, I thought it was a pretty tight short.

Well done on this, I had a read of the script first and found it interesting, seeing the film was weird. Very well done, you should be very proud of this. It is a great little short and think they did an excellent job on it. The chick was hot and after reading the script I imagine the actor was probably dissapointed that they decided not to go with the french kissing scene! ;-) The last scene in the ring was good and a fine way to finish.   Nice one. You give us all hope!

Great  film...Loved the script, and they did a great job translating it to the computer screen...Lighting and score, very creepy and foreboding...Good acting too. Liked Sexy Nurse...she was smouldering hot without overdoing it...

Yeah, and since they ran out of money for SFX shots, they had to cut his leg off for real. Poor guy.  :P

That was pretty good Z. I liked the shadow effects on the wall and I noticed it was shot in Australia. It must be a buzz having one of your scripts produced in another country.

Hey Matias, congrats man I've just watched it. Very good!

I just want to say one thing: I didn't like when the boxer punched the wall. It had to be like a strong a sound of an explosion.

All in all it was great!

cheers

Thanks Helio my friend. The punch could use a stronger sound effect, I agree.
