{Don's edit:  This is not entirely true:

"Swayze's publicist issued the following statement to TMZ: "Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment."

The statement continues, "Patrick's physician Dr. George Fisher states, 'Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.' Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects."

Such tragedy.  I think Swayze is an underrated actor.  I enjoyed his work in "Dirty Dancing," "Ghost" and "Point Break."

That's a shame. Fifty-five is too young to die.

Man, this year will be the worst Patrick Swayze Christmas ever (I know, obscure and insensitive, but I couldn't resist).

I agree that it is a shame. I had a feeling he was ill after seeing him on T.V. a week or so ago. His face showed his illness.

Although pancreatic cancer is the worst one you can get (because it can spread before detection), it seems as though they may have caught this before it got bad.

I hope he recovers and recovers quickly.

Can't say I'm the biggest fan of Patrick's, but a cancer diagnosis -- whether terminal or not -- is never good news. Let's hope his recovery goes well and he makes it out OK.

Thanks for editing my post Don. I'm glad that Patrick has a chance of living. He seems like a good guy. I really hope he pulls through.
