OK, so I'm English and my story is mostly set in America, when I complete it I will probably try and sell it in the US (the UK horror film industry is sadly lacking). So this in mind, do I use American spelling and terminology, or English?

e.g. 'the colour of the curtains' OR 'the color of the drapes'

Curtains are fine.  And professional readers will probably overlook the British spelling of words.

I'd say write the way your comfortable, if that's British then so be it.  Also I'd have to say that at the present moment in time the British film industry is pretty strong and there are some good horrors being made here.  'The Cottage' has had decent reviews. although it is a comedy horror, same goes for' Shaun of the dead'.  Also '28 days later' and '28 weeks later' were good and Neil Marshall's 'Descent' and 'Dog Soldiers' were passable too.  Shane Meadows 'Dead mans shoes' is well worth a look also.

Good point Alffy. There are some great British horrors. And if I could base the script I'm working on in the UK I would have...but it can't be done!

If I'm realistic, this first script is unmarketable anyway. More an exercise to see if I could gel with script writing and formatting. Shame though, I'm really beginning to like the characters and where the story's going.
