SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  News  /  Discussion Board back up as of March 22nd, 2008

Well, I've been on the phone with the lovely folks at iPower.  The best I've been able to achieve is to bring the board back as of March 22nd 2008.  I will try and get as many of the scripts that were posted since then back up as quickly as possible.

Pia!  My you've grown.

The boards are strange. It's almost like we've gone back in time.

Yeay!!! It's back!!!

I'm glad it got rid of some of my dumb posts, but it messed up my avatar.  :-(

Christ, Pia, you've really let yourself go.

Now, get in my van!!!

I just realized today was April 3 and not March 22.

Sheesh!

Back on topic. Does this mean all the posts that came after March 22 are gone forever?

I've also noticed that my old signature has come back and the records of my private message exchanges since March 22 have disappeared.

Now I can understand why 'me' has been away for so long, she has been auditioning for Cloverfield II: The big swede takes out the big apple.

That's what I got from Don's original post. Everything posted after March 22 is a goner (the same thing goes for PMs).

What the hell, it's a free service so I can't really complain. Anyway, we weren't exactly curing cancer

I can summarize my past 13 days on Simply Scripts, anyway: The Pusher Trilogy rocked, everything Tarantino has done since Pulp Fiction has seemed uninspired and forced, I read a slasher script by another guy called Chris Reid that was set in a place called Hidden Valley, which just happens to be the name of the suburb my parents are looking to buy a house in. Freaky.  :o

Yesterday will hence be known as the Terrible Discussion Board Meltdown of 2008!

Kinda like the stock market crash of '29, just without the suicides (I hope)!

Maybe not suicides but can we start offing people....like a spree, maybe? There are a few account managers at work....

heh...depends upon who it is, I suppose.

The boards are pretty dead today.  I think people are waiting to see if things are back to normal before posting too much.

It sucks how many reviews were lost.

Any reviews I give, I will be saving to Word -- at least, for a while.

As usual, big applause and appreciation for Don's continual hard work keeping this site up and running...No one ever plans on a massive hard disk failure, but they do happen and we are fortunate that they had the forsight to back up on the 22nd... So make sure your own script files are backed up often on CD or DVD...(Don't trust those little flash drives)...

I suggest that everyone rewrite their reviews for scripts they have read in that time.  This is especially important for those scripts that were posted in the 'lost days.'
