Since the "teens have car trouble and get lost only to meet backwoods rednecks and/or inbred cannibals" seems to be a really popular script genre here, I recommend reading Bryan Smith's novel "House Of Blood", which takes that idea and does some outrageous stuff with it...really the only fresh twist on it I've read in years. It's maybe 2 years old but still in print. The sequel, Queen Of Blood has just been published.

The interesting thing is, it goes beyond the usual backwoods-torture-porn angle and really has a wild take on the subject. Maybe a bit over the top, but one heck of a fun read.
