I don't want to give too much away, because I'll be posting it on here.

There's been a murder. The only thing that they need to get rid of is the bones and the head of the body. The murderers are both very much inexperienced. Any ideas of how they could get rid of these? I really want them to get away with it but will have to leave it where they're probably going to get caught or actually show them getting caught if I can't solve this.

I've even posted a question on yahoo answers for this haha they say bones don't boil down and don't burn, obviously unless you have a furnace. This is just a normal house though.

Now that's a disturbing question. LOL! You're asking us how to get away with a murder?

But okay, whtever. Let's see...

Feed the bones to a pack of dogs and just bury the skull which is too big for a dog to eat, I think.

If your characters are inexperienced and they have the dogs I think that would be the safest way to get away with it...although they would probably get caught eventually.

Grind them down? Turn them into something else eg pretend it's a guy for Halloween? Turn them into an art piece?

Bury them? Burn the whole house down?

It's a strange question. Without knowing what has happened previously and their circumstances it's hard to answer.

Why can't they take them out of the house or hide them?

Who are the gentlemen in question. It would seem sensible that whatever their charcaters are should play some role in their disposal of the bones.

What is the theme of the piece? It may be helpful to dispose of them in a way that makes a point about the central conceit of the film. EG that whatever got them into this mess should also form part of the solution.

Put the skull and bones in a large fish tank and pretend they are decorations.

His old friend is now a mortician and owes him seriously. He takes it to him for cremation, but the friend dies before doing the cremation.

The new owner has an unknown body on his hands now.

If they are in the crematorium still they can use that....if not why not have them break in?

I like the fish tank idea though!

Getting rid of evidence is notoriously difficult. Even the acid bath murders didn't work completely!

Instead of trying to get rid of them ...I think your best of trying to hide them. Make a medical skeleton out of them. After all the best way to hide something is to have it on full view.

Ste,

i think this is the wrong section for posting the question since what you are asking for is help in your story. This should have been in the Works in Progress with the title of your script. Just telling you for future notice.  The mods will prob move this for you later on.

But I guess the bones can be melted down by fire if the individual keeps the fire up for quite a while. But I'm no scientist. Now, have you thought about framing a person for the murder?

Thanks guys

Gomez....I know, I know. I put a link to this site on yahoo and my user name because I was worried the police would come.

I've learnt through yahoo that if you boil them long enough they break up. But I really love Zack's idea. The problem is she would be recognised.

I'll say the plot now because I'm worried people think I'm a murderer haha. Still try to leave enough untold.

The murderer is a 7 year old girl.

She's killed her dad's girlfriend.

He's about to call the police when she says that "My Seven year old daughter killed her? They won't belive that" It's inspired by a Chris Morris 'Jam' episode.

I've tried to look for the episode on youtube but can't find it. Here's a synopsis of that part though.

In a scene reminiscent of Nikita, a man (Eldon) has a fight with a friend and waits for someone to come round and dispose of the body. The person who arrives is a six-year-old girl, who, despite her tender age, turns out to be very proficient at chopping up corpses. She is also very foul-mouthed and carries a gun. The body turns out not to be dead, but she kills him so that she can finish the job. The police arrest the surviving man.

Jam is absolutely quality for anyone who likes dark humour.

Gabe, I didn't know where to ask this, I was split between here and WIP

WIP is better, Steve.  You've got several threads on the "Questions or Comments" board that would be better suited for WIP.

This board is for questions about the site itself.

If you have a question about a story you are working on, that is a thread for WIP.

Cheers bert. It's just the part about not posting 'ideas' on there. Duely noted for future ;o)

You could fill the tub with industrial strength bleach and dissolve the bones in it.

Or you could grind them down and mix them with chicken feed.

Or you can brerak the bones down and frreze them in a block of ice.  Then throw the ice in a running river.  As the ice melts, it scatters the bones for miles.

If anyone in your family disappears, Ste, I'm calling the police.

"Gomez....I know, I know. I put a link to this site on yahoo and my user name because I was worried the police would come."

This just reminded me: I was researching something for a story, which involved blowing up a nuclear power station in France. It didn't occur to me til 3 weeks later on a trip to France that maybe it wasn't such a good idea. I got stopped and searched by customs on the outward and inward journeys! Just a friendly word of caution!

Back to the original post.

If you look up the chemical compostion of bones, then look what chemical reaction would be needed to dissolve them...then look at what industrial chemicals are available that would do the job. Research, you've gotta love it! (Bleach is good but would take a very long time). NB forensics would still be able to identify that it had been used to dissolve bones.

Being that teeth are the things used to identify a corpse, maybe concentrate more on disposing of the skull. Remove the teeth, then smash it with a sledgehammer. Scatter the bits, they could be easily hidden in hardcore...any building works going on nearby?

She is a seven year old?

What about if she carries a teddy bear with her when she shows up?

She unstuffs the teddy bears head and sticks the human skull inside and sticks the bones in the arms and legs.

Then the police find all the stuffing in the bin and wonder what's going on and we cut to our innocent little girl holding her teddy. Camera pans round to reveal the human hair sticking out the back and then she gently pushes it back in.

Nice gruesome but amusing ending.

Cheers for the advice. I think I'm going to go with the fishtank.

Was talking about it over some bank holiday drinks yesterday with a few friends. It's going to have a large castle ornament in the tank and then at the end it zooms in and we see two human eyes looking out.

I'm working on a title because the one I've got now - 'BBQ of Love' - has been ridiculed haha.

This script is now in the short section, called 'A Mother's Love' for anyone interested. Thanks again for people's advice. Link in sig.

Ste

ps. Proof that I'm not a murderer....ish.

Bury the head.

Get a bowling bag and weigh down the bones with a bowling ball.  Throw it in the river or something.  Worked on Sopranos didn't it?  When they got rid of Ralphie.
