Werner Herzog is set to begin shooting the remake/continuation of 90s cult classic The Bad Lieutenant. It stars the inconsistent Nicolas Cage, however it co-stars Val Kilmer and a strong supporting cast.

Saw the trailer earlier today.  Looks wild, and should be fun.

Another pointless exercise, as far as I can see.

What Herzog thinks he is doing though is anyone's guess!

But at least the rumour that Michael Bay was going to direct it has proven false!

I used to have a Bad Lieutenant t-shirt. It had a picture of Harvey Keitel on the front standing naked in the middle of the room crying or getting blown or something. On the back were the words: Gambler, Thief, Junkie, Killer, Cop. I probably tossed it out at some stage thinking that it was too over the top. I wish I'd kept it. As for this film, Nic Cage needs an indie hit to restore some credibility, however, I reckon Val Kilmer would've been better in the lead role. He was awesome in Wonderland playing the coked out John Holmes.

True, as it is another remake - but I think it'll be badass.
