Some people on this board already know this and got to see some gruesome pics of it, I got jumped on Sunday night by a couple of thugs who wanted my wallet.  I was first pepper sprayed in the face then whacked over the head with a knife.  They demanded my wallet and when I  said no they one of them slashed me across the face with a knife and hit me over the head again..  They then grabbed my wallet and i grabbed it back, they then pepper sprayed me again.  Then one put the knife to my throat, so I elbow checked him and ran across the street.  Luckily there was a pizza boy who saw me and called 911.  The two thugs chased me across the street but when they saw other people they took off.  I ended up with 12 stitches on my face and 4 staples in my head.  I am ok now, i got swelling on my right eye  but I should recover soon.  It was a pretty scary incident, the pepper spray hurt the most, at the hospital They scrubbed me down for like 30 min, the medics in the ambulance were hacking over the pepper spray.  I'm doing good though now, I  have gotten a lot better already, just got some headaches and eye swelling.

Wow crazy stuff. I'm guessing it would have been hard to shove them a bit and sprint away? That's never happened to me. The pepper spray I mean. I've been randomly punched a few times. It's more annoying than anything when you are drunk 'cause there isn't really much pain.

This is why you should never walk the streets at night without a wife or girlfriend with you. They tend to be slower and can help ensure you get away first.

I have been downwind from pepper spray before -- just got a little -- and even that stung like a bastard.

Thanks Bert, and everyone else.  The pepper spray was horrible, even the medics in the ambulance were hacking over it.  I  think the worst part is im scared to go outside at night now, i will only go out during the day, keeps me kinda home bound, but the snow at the moment is doing that as well.  Thanks everyone for the nice messages

Out of curiosity, I take it from this that pepper spray doesn't incapasitate a person.  Just how bad is the stuff?  Like if a person were to use it on an attacker would it give them any leverage at all?  Or just annoy and piss them off?

It is horrible horrible stuff, it burns so bad and it doesn't stop so I would recommend not being any where near the stuff.

Sorry to hear about this...Pretty cowardly of the robbers to pepper spray ya first...Not man enough to take ya on without cheating...
