SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board / Questions or Comments / Question about WGA Registration
Posted by: nextbigthing24, December 23rd, 2008, 6:47pm
I'm about to register my script with the WGA, but before you register, they ask you for the material type. Is there a difference between selecting "script" or "screenplay", or does it not matter? Also, if you're writing a script/screenplay for a SERIES, would you select series (because they have all 3 for you to choose from)?
[edit: Nevermind. I did my research and apparently, they register the same either way.]

I don't think it would matter so much that you would lose any protection.
I would recommend that you register your work with the Library of Congress, rather than the WGA. It costs a little more but your registered a lot longer.
