Has anyone read the whole thing yet?

SPOILERS*** (sort of)

I didn't want to because the whole film will be ruined if they stick closely to that draft (which I'm assuming they pretty much will since it's dated Jan and filming begins very soon). I was only let myself read the opening pages and a few non-horror bits here and there, but unfortunately I read a line of a dialogue some 30 pages in that ruined my 'Ah, they're going with a different protagonist!' theory. That would've been so cool to watch in the cinema completely unaware, very Psycho... and I've ruined it lol. Decided to stop there :)

Not such a good script.  Once again, a reimagining disguised as a remake that has nothing to do with Wes Craven's original story and characters.  The sequels to ANOES were crap, so why do another bad sequel?  Keep the original storyline from the first movie and update the kills and effects.  That would be cool.

Didn't we all know it was going to go the way of "ALL" the other "COUNTLESS" remakes and reimaginings out there? I do mean, c'mon now... This is Hollow quick buck wood.  The script for the remake was about on par with what I'd have expected. So I'm not dissappointed in the least. It was always gonna be subpar.

Why does it have to be that way?  The audience for this film will be die hard fans of the original.  Why not give them what they want?  It just seems like common sense to me.

Why does it have to be that way?  Well, Joe Eszterhas said it best. "Hollywood is afraid of the screenwriter"  by this I mean the "REAL" ones. The ones we don't hear about and the one's who's idea's get passed by a thousand times a day... I know a great deal of writers now who can write better material than what we're seeing in the movies, but what you and a lot of others might not see is this.

Even if you sold a script in hollywood and it got greenlit... Your version wouldn't be the one you seen. Well, 99.9% anyways. They hire their own staff writers to do multiple tweaks to the scripts because they feel they have better ideas than you do. By the way "THEY" are not writers and probably haven't read a page one of the scripts they are green lighting. "THEY" are producers who hire other writers.

So, why is the new remake of ANOES bad? Well... too many wannabe writers and not enough good ones making noise.  Think about all the movies being released and then think about how many times you see the writers attached to them.  The same people are making and writing movies in hollywood. A small group of people at that... There is no room for people with better ideas. Why? Cos' it'd put them out of work. We can't have that.

I can write a better script than what we're seeing. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. I know it and many people who know my entire catalog of work does too.
