Here's something from my blog you might find worthwhile.  Or not.  But check it out anyway.

Thank you for posting the link.

I ask this same question all the time and always answer myself: ( ;D) Because I need to. I'm compelled by either stupidity or creative passion. Maybe a bit of both.

The desire to research and create and understand is part of what compels me. The other part is to share that with others. To share the human experience. To entertain and educate.

This is succinct as I am currently reading Rob's rather good 'Deliverance', but, isn't it largely down to a need for acknowledgment? And therefore, a simple desire to receive a pat on the back? Isn't that - when it comes to its most fundamental level - all us humans seek? The simple joy of ego massaging?

Or am I just being pessimistic?

Only $60,000 a year, eh.  Gee, I'd hate to almost double my salary. . . .

I write because I love it, but I also find that it saves me a bundle on psychology fees.

For the glory. Quitting my crappy slave job some day would be glorious.  ;D

What! no fame, glory or money...then I retire now!  Only joking, I write because I enjoy it, isn't that the real motivation for everyone?  If one person says they enjoyed my screenplay then I'm happy, although if everyone says they enjoyed it, the fame and fortune dream pops into my head lol.

I write because they're some subjects I'm extremely passionate about and would like to pursuade others or at the very least, create a particular mood...

My current writings are not on those subjects but I keep scribbling ideas on what I should ultimately say in a few scripts on them. But writing can be challenging, no?
