I'm really wondering how the public will receive this one as "Sicko" seemed to pretty much fall through the cracks.  Which is a shame because, even though MM kind of annoys me now, "Sicko" was one of his less-confrontational films.

I'm wondering if everyone's just kind of Michael Moore'd out.

Looks interesting. I probably won't watch it, but I reckon it will be successful.

I think the working title was 'Another Piece of Shit From That Fat Fucking Bastard.'  Or something like that.  This was will disappear faster that Sicko because people understand hoe much he bullshits a way through a documentary and also because we're currently living in big economy distress.  We don't need to see his spin on it.

Moore ruined Flint, Michigan, as much as GM did by closing. Flint was preparing for GM's close by building a convention center that would've brought in new revenue.  Moore's movie didn't include the convention center.  Instead, he should how the town was quickly dying out, with no chance of recovery.

The convention center was completed but no one wanted to use it because they thought that Flint, Michigan was the ghost town that Moore portrayed it to be.  And who'd want to have a convention in a ghost town?

He's a little nugget to chew on.  Manufacturing Dissent is a documentary about Michael Moore and how he does more movie magic than Harry Potter.  The best part is that Moore didn't want to be interviewed for it.

If Moore wasn't so gung-ho in showing how badly Flint was suffering, that convention center would not have been such a failure.  He wanted to show everyone how badly Roger Smith was fucking up the town, not realizing that he was doing it, too.

I don't think Moore turned Flint into some nosediving self-fulfilling prophecy. I think that understates the impact of GM on Flint. Big profits and greed is what nosedived Flint. It's really unfair to lay a significant portion of blame on Moore who, for all intents and purposes, was acting altruistically.

Moore concentrated on Smith, especially how he kept dodging his film crew.  Ironically, Moore dodged the film crew for Manufacturing Dissent.  He showed how the closing of the plant would leave Flint in a shithole state.  That's why no one wanted to use this new convention center....because Moore showed everyone how terrible the town was.

I think that misses the point. A convention centre is not a suitable replacement in the first place. The impact of GM closing - as with any local economy almost completely reliant of one employer/manufacturer - on Flint is too large. Too many families were hostage to GM, and their livelihoods were at risk - and for what? To bolster company profits.

Did Moore's depiction of Flint cause that harm? No, I don't think it did. A contributory factor? Maybe, but only really a largely negligible factor. The real impact was down to the activities of GM. But, that's business, right?

You also have to realize that Moore is going to do a humorous slant on this topic (atleast that's what the trailer says).  So, he'll be retelling all the jokes that we've been hearing on the late night talk shows these last two years.

I personally think Moore was on the money with "Bowling for Columbine".  I particularly thought he had a strong thesis for that film, but I will admit: he did do his usual cinematic trickery and also veered off in some rather crazy directions at certain points.   However, I still think his overall point was valid and made for a compelling subject.

I was kinda hoping Moore would go out with the Bush administration but I guess not. Politics aside, I don't see how anyone can stand to look at this troll's ugly mug for 2 hours. Whatever sass or style he once had has been swapped in favor of preachiness. I doubt this new trailer is a good indicator of what the film will actually be like, especially considering how misleading the trailers for Fahrenheit 9/11 were. He had a few jokes here and there but they didn't take anything away from the fact of how joyless that one was.

I am tired if the left wing tearing this country apart! I am a right wing extremist I WAS a registered Independent, I swithed to Republican so I could vote in the primaries because of how bad the democratic side has gotten.

"Bowling..." was a horrible documentary that used cute antics to mask it's true agenda. Gun-Control.

"Farenheit..." was a complete mess full of bullshit, doctored articles and lies. It's so bad, there are films debunking it.


Look, neither side of the battle is perfect. But Moore is so far out there in left field that it scares me how many people like the guy and his movies.  

I liked "sicko". In fact, I baught the DVD. And usually I don't like Moore (I also have "manufacturing dissent" but it's really quite stupid. The filmmakers hoped to make moore look bad but ended up saying more about themselves...)
