Since the remake made a killing at the box office(no pun intended), it was only a matter of time before sequel talk started. Nothings concrete yet, but producers want an August 13th 2010 release.

As for possible plot details, the producers have hinted at a winter setting. I think that could be interesting and really have potential for some interesting kills. Doing the sequel in 3D apparently isn't out of the question either.

I'll keep this thread updated when new info pops up.

I read the story about this, and the one thing that I really appreciated reading was that the producers of the film looked at film message boards to see what the fans wanted (more creative kills).  I'm glad to see that they actually care.

I agree. Platinum Dunes has some quality guys who are actually fans of horror.

The first one was "technically" pretty bad (like all the others) but very entertaining for what it was. I thought it was one of the stronger Friday films.

So with that said, I'll definitely check the sequel out.

So basically, they've ripped off the makers of "The Cold Heart Of Crystal Lake" ... In turn, they ripped off the originals, though... So it's all a big mess of why even bother.  Friday the 13th should be buried for good. This new series is so bad it's not even good... Some movies are terrible, but good for the sake of being fun to watch for a laugh. The new Friday the 13th couldn't even manage that... Much like its Halloween remake counter part and Texas Chainsaw massacre as-well.

Leave them be... I predict in 2015 remake of Hellraiser and a reboot of Texas chain saw massacre. Hollywood's well has run dry.

Awesome!  They having nothing concrete, no writer, no director, not actors. But they do have a release date!

They have writers... the same behind the remake. And Derek Mears has signed on for two more movies.

So they don't really have any writers, right?

Does anyone remember the old 'Friday the 13th' video game for the original Nintendo system? I still own a copy and play from time to time...and I'll be damned if it isn't a little creepy (sounds ridiculous, I know...).

Anyway, I always thought it would be rad if they followed an atmosphere similar to the game, where there actually are children attending a summer camp, and there's this legend of Jason Vorhees. I think only one of the sequels (it's been so long since I watched them all) actually had kids at camp...maybe part 7? The goal in the game is to save the children - and it always made me think that it might make these movies a little more intense if children are at stake, as opposed to the same crew of drunken, sex crazed teens/young adults.

Aside from that...not sure what to think of the whole 'snow' idea. Seems like whenever this series runs stale, they switch up the setting with disastrous results (parts V, VIII and X, and to a lesser extent, Jason Goes to Hell). All in all, I think I have to agree with Baltis - they should just bury this franchise for good - although we all know it won't happen as long as it keeps turning a profit at the box office.

Worst game ever... Well, not really "A nightmare on Elm Street" "Star Voyager" & "DR Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" are all candidates for that title on the NES.  MAG MAX was another lame ass game.

Anyways, this idea of the "snow" has been done independently, as I mentioned above. It's not "NEW" and the producers and screenwriters know it.  I have the only "original" Friday the 13th script that will ever be written... Why? Cos' I did it myself.

My screenplay consist of 8 teenagers and 2 counclers, all of which were involved in Jason's drowning and "supposed" murder. Years later, all of the teenagers, now in their late 20's and early to mid 30's, have grown up and went onto seperate things in life. Seperate ways. Some more successful than others. And what they had done to Jason was long forgotten and left at Crystal Lake all them years ago...  Or was it?

One by one, everyone involved in Jason's death recives a letter in the mail, complete with a copy of a video one of them had shot documenting the death. In the letter it reads they meet at Crystal Lake on Friday the 13th or elses.

When they arrive it soon becomes Open season on the 10 unsuspecting murders, as Jason is not only very much alive...  But out for revenge. It all comes to a head when we learn his mother is in on it, and orchestrated the plot.

Everyone who reads it instantly says "THIS SHOULD BE MADE!!!"  I don't write many fan fiction scripts cos I feel they're a waste of time, but the 5 I've done "THE FLASH" "SUPER MARIO BRO's" "FRIDAY THE 13th" & "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE" "RESIDENT EVIL" are bright spots on the source material, I believe. Stories that haven't been told before. That's what's important...

I love AVGN.

His video on "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is brilliant and captures everything that's wrong with the game.

Did you buy his DVD's for the series? I bought them cause I support online series and also I like watching high quality videos.

Balt, Hellraiser is already being rebooted in 2011 haha so you were a few years off.

Again I refer to my review of the first one for this and say, why bother if you're not going to do anything new?

Ok, so now that I've finished crying from laughing so hard...I guess I forgot about the zombies that crawl out of the ground.

That video is priceless...

If anyone has ever played this game, you understand how difficult it is. I've never even heard of someone getting all the way through. For the record though, when you're inside one of the cabins and Jason pops out of nowhere, it has the potential to give you a heart attack.

Baltis - is that fan fic script of yours posted on the site at all? Would love to read it!

Never even crossed my mind to post it here... It's fan Fic and, to me, nothing more than an exercise in writing. It's a very original take on the series, but nothing I'd post up to showcase my work as a writer.  I'm very selective when posting work anywhere.

I was going to check up on a remake for it when I posted that and that just beats all. They can't leave anything alone.  What a shame, or a shame depending on how you look at it.  :-/

I think Hellraiser was garbage to begin with eventhough I like Pinhead the movies they put around him are horrible.

You can't get any worse...

They will drag this trash on for another hundred years because we are stupid and go watch it and buy the DVD's.
