...is damn hard after a long time off. Been trying to actually write after a long semester and an incredible trip to OZ/NZ. Lot easier said than done. Actually thinking and typing feels like trying to learn a dance with two left hands on the end of me stems. If I didn't have my index cards on my wall, I'd be completely lost.

Feel free to share your stories or offer any tips.

Welcome back, man. The same thing happened to me. C'est la vie.

Welcome back, Tim. Writing's like riding a bicycle, it'll come back.

Hey Tim,

Good to see you back.

What I do is get back into writing again is get out an old script and do a rewrite.

Soon after that, I start getting ideas for a new script.

never mind writing. Are you still drawing? Your artwork from what I've seen is incredible.

If writing is hard and not happening for you,  why don't you just switch back to art and draw dozens and dozens of panels like a story board, let your imagination run wild then once you greased it up and got it moving just switch it to the realm of writing.

After all, script is just the language of film so writing a script or doodling panels of story boards is really not that much diffrent. It's all designed for the same end result- a movie

I've kind of strayed from writing and very rarely do I actually write something new anymore because of the facts surrounding everything.

I agree with one of the above posters regarding old scripts and doing rewrites and stuff just kind of to show yourself why you loved what you did and maybe give yourself a reason to get back into it.

For me however it has not worked 100%. I am at the point where I want to finish up a couple things and I'm done for good so good luck and hopefully you can get back into it.

I just got back from a two month stay in Europe so I know what you're going through.

Along with reading some of your other scripts as was suggested, try watching some of your favorite movies. I had a hard time getting started, popped in a DVD and was reminded of why I do what I do and was inspired with new ideas at the same time.

If nothing else, you could always try to write something about your trip since it's still fresh in your mind.
