A while ago I got an e-mail from someone named David Melendez regarding one of my short scripts. Last thing he said to me was that he was going to read the new draft I sent him...this was back in August 1st

A couple of days ago I got another e-mail from a Asaasira Boaz about the same short.

I have already contacted David to see if what was going on, he has yet to respond. So should I wait for an e-mail that might never come or go with the newcomer?

Don't wait for emails. Try me. I'll get back within 24 hours. Not to so is just rude IMH.

First off, nice one on getting the interest. I'd advise you to keep your options open and contact the newcomer. I had the same deal with a script, best to correspond with both and see how they pan out. You never know whose the genuine article, be open to all possible interested parties.

I'd agree with Col here, sometimes people are very keen on your scripts and then they disappear and you hear nothing so don't pass up any opportunity and keep your options open.

As long as you didn't receive payment from the first guy then you don't owe him anything. If all he has done is express some interest in reading your draft, he hasn't commited to filming it has he?

Talk to as many people as you can and with any luck you'll find someone who wants to produce your short.

Cheers,
Tim.

You can't reject someone because he hasn't emailed you in a certain amount of time!

Also, don't mention names on here man. Well, my opinion. I wouldn't mention people who had interest in my shorts. Keep it on the DL.

I would wait a week or so, and then tell the second guy to go for it.

Or tell them both to make your short! Why not?!
