Thinking about Joan Osborne and the verse that gets into my heart and tugs real hard.

SimplyGod ...

If God had a name

What would it be

And would you call it to His Face

...

If you were faced with Him

In All

His Glory

What would you ask
if you had

Just one Question....

And yeah, yeah

God is Great!

Yeah yeah

God is Good!

Yeah! Yeah !

yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?

Just a slob like one of us....

Just a stranger on the bus?!

Trying to make His Way Home….

If God had a Face

What would it look like

And would you want to see

If seeing meant that

you would have to believe

in things like heaven

and in Jesus and the saints

And all the prophets

and yeah yeah

God is

Great

Yeah yeah

God is Good

Yeah, yeah

Yeah yeah yeah

What if God was one of Us?

Morning Sandra,

I suppose it's evening over there still.

I had the misfortune to have to spend too much time in the company of some, what I'd term. Bible bashers lately.

Strange people. For such big fans of Jesus and his works, they have a serious problem with forgiveness.

I happened to mention Bill Hicks, just to try and lighten the tone. cue church bell donging in distance and tumbleweed rolling past.

Anyway, to the point, at last.

This song came on. They didn't like that either.

After that I was about to ask what they actually did like. I held my tongue and got my coat. It was the best for everybody really.

Anyways, I like this song. It's rather clever. And I'm quite fond of clever.

Have a good one.

I'm with you, R, ...

And I know what you mean about the Bible Bashers.

Not just Bible Bashers, but any kind of "Put God in a box Scenario. '
It's always been a struggle for me.... to write God into some kind of paradigm.

Thinking of you,

Sandra

Bible Bashers & Bible Huggers. There are plenty of "extremists" on both side of the aisle. And both seem to paint the moderates in a wrong light.

Quoted from Angels & Demons
Faith is a gift that I have yet to receive.

And let's leave it at that.

What if?

Exactly.  :)

It's going to be hard for me to hide IF I decide to do this next OWC.  ;)

Re

R, I think you did the right thing.

Whether people are thumping Bibles, or WKW, the most important thing, I think is forgiveness.

Because, as a quote I quite respect says,

A known mistake is better than an unknown truth.

It's the hate the sin; love the sinner kind of thing. We have this nature about us and it's not all good. We know that. But why? And I think, crazy-like I know, but the ultimate forgiveness, would be to forgive the Devil, himself. But I don't believe in the Devil; so don't listen to me.  ;)

I love that line.

Thanks for that.

Sandra,

Let's say God is one of us. Let's say you met him (her) and he (she) told you that he would answer one - just one - of your questions. What would your one question to God be?

I'm just curious is all - no hidden agenda.

My question would be

On the seventh day,  when you rested,

What did you do?

Respectfully, but with a wink

God is a mathematical equation we don't yet have all the parameters for.  You can't really ask an equation much except, what is x?

Why?

(That's to the Gods, not you - btw).  :)

But you can speculate.

My question would be:

Why did you make it impossible for me to believe in you?

That's deep, Sniper.

I would ask him why is he portrayed as a blood-thirty jerk in the Old Testament and yet talked about as a perfect and all-loving being today. Anyone capable of such destruction is not perfect IMO.

That being said, I do believe in God. I might not believe in the Bible, but I believe in a God. 100%.

Why don't I believe in you?

AND....

Why have you let them make so many seasons of Smallville?

Sandra,

I do like that song, but I believe this version is much more to my liking.

Not a big fan of this song, but it was written by a Philly guy Eric Bazillian who was in the band THe Hooters, and who also co-wrote Time after Time and a couple of other songs that have made him billions of dollars.

Wow Matt, that's an excellent version and although it's meant to be funny, I believe that cannabis too was created for a reason.

Recently, my husband and I went to a Vietnamese restaurant and I tried this tremendously hot little red pepper. I love hot peppers, but wow! This was so hot I needed milk. And even that, it has a purpose I don't really know.

I love the answers to Rob's question.  :)

My question would be "What's your phone number?"
