You've written a good story, the characters have many dimensions and unexpected depth.  Not much is new in the plot, but the nightmare quality becomes real because the interaction between the characters is so compelling.  That's a rare and wonderful thing.

It was difficult to read, however -- maybe this is an early draft or you are experimenting with grammar just for the fun of it.
