Oh man, what a flat out fun flick. It was the most fun i've had since Avatar. I really don't understand why this isn't getting good reviews. I thought it was very entertaining andthe special effects were really good. The 3D was alright, but it was no Avatar. If you saw the trailer and liked what you saw, or you liked the original, or you like greek mythology, or you just like fun movies, go check this out. also, I'm surprisied it only got a PG13 rating. It's very violent in parts.

"Fun since Avatar"

When did you see Avatar?

I work at a movie theatre and saw about ten minutes of it after my shift. It sucks balls. I saw the part where Sam keeps the eye from the blind things and then runs into Liam on the street.

It just doesn't work. The scene with Liam was awful to watch.

To each their own. I liked it. The scene you mention with Liam walking in the street was a bit silly, but it was necassary.

Well good man, whether you liked it or not, it is essential IMO to watch the highest grossing movie in history to help you understand the biz. If you're serious about being a screen writer.

As for Clash. Plan on seeing this soon. Was a fave movie for me when I was a kid. Then again, my tastes have changed a bit from then. will report back after a fair viewing.

Oh, because the script for AVATAR is so freakin' fantastic and it won the OSCAR right?

Oh, wait, it didn't because the screenplay SUUUCKED.

Bit of a frisky fella aint ya? Down boy. One too many "u"'s for me to take seriously. I'd trim it down a tad. Where may I find one of your fab pieces? Had a rather large breakfast this am. Need to find a good place to take a dump.

Because I'm mature enough, I don't have to show you any of my work. I don't have to prove anything to you.

Just got back from it... Wow... B-O-R-I-N-G!!!!  What in the fuck happened with this train wreck of a swiss cheese ass story?

My complaints are a great many and I don't have a lot of time to list them all but --

1. The fights, all of them, were anti-climactic.  The two end fights, don't wanna spoil either, were absolute robbery of screen time.

2. Paying the river ferry to get across -- Fine.  But wasn't it obvious who was going to make it out of Medusa's layer when there was only one coin and that damn Pegasus flying around?  C'mon now.

3. "So you are a fisherman" --- "You shoulda' seen my dad" --- Hold up, Dick Twist.  Your dad didn't catch a fish one ever.  Not a fish 1 was caught by his dad on screen.  So we did see your dad and he sucked.

4.  Horrible choice for Persus, man.  Who was this twig?  At least Hamlin was buffed the F up.  & Who was this guys barber? His hair was absurdly groomed for the time.

5.  Why was Argus so important to the gods?  It was a shit smack dot on a globe.  The gods cared a tad too much about these people's love if you ask me.

6.  The original Kraken was ballz out better than the new one.  The original actually had a distinct look.  This one looked like it was designed by the guys over at Insomniac games while making Resistance 3.  Fuggin' lame.

I could go on and on and on here... But the movie sucked monkey nuts.  Couldn't believe it was 25 bucks to see this in 3-D.  Absolute robbery.  The 3-d, when stacked up against other films of 3-D... Couldn't even really tell past the opening starry scene really.

Waste of money, folks.  Watch the original and love it for what it stands up to today.  All I can really say.   On and ending note -- I can 100% see how much video-games are shaping the movie industry now, though.  Each scene in this seemed ripped out of a video game.  Short, quick burst of action tied together with light story telling. The Video Game industry is leading the world of entertainment now and that's kinda scary.  Because no video game has captured character depth...  (Uncharted series aside.  Maybe even Heavy Rain to a degree)

Balt,

Stop beating around the bush. Alright, it's one ome fav pastimes.

Is the action so fast only a pigeon could see wot was really going on?

And I think you're saying it's really not worth it. 25 bucks is a lotta of anyone's dosh for a rented seat. I take it your not 'a popcorn, three bagsa candy and a large coke man. Oh and a hotdog. No make that two. Yes!' typa feller.

I thought so.

Hmmm. Might weight for deeveedodah.

Aw well. Thanks for the info. Keep it hot.

Hmmm, I reviewed this the other day and someone deleted my review for some reason.

Totally agree with Balt...this movie was a huge disappointment!  Boring as fuck, poor 3D effects, and just not what it should have been. The original was so much better.

I paid $13 for a matinee showing in 3D and was appalled at that price.  It will come and go quickly...let's hope!

I went in expecting to love it, as I fondly remember seeing the original in the theater (is that dating my old ass, or what?).

I was unimpressed almost immediately with the effects and 3D.

The Olympus stuff was cheesy at best.

The witches were terrible.

Even Medusa was weak compared to the original, but probably the 2nd best scene, next to the Scorps...but after we see the desert people riding the big ones, where's the threat?

You guys probably know that this was not supposed to be a 3D movie, and I think that's why the 3D effects were so poor.  It may play better in 2D.

I agree about the 3d not being very good. It kinda hurt my eyes. I'm gonna see it in 2d when my theater gets it.

It's better in 2D. The 3D was blurry and the action scenes were cheesy.

For those people not satisfied with the movie: As long as you don't finish the movie, go to the box office and either get a refund or a rain check. Customer service is the utmost importance to movie theaters and if you're not satisfied, the managers and staff will do everything they can to make you happy. It's quite sad, but next time, go back and get a raincheck.

Everything suffered from the runtime - it's as simple as that.

It's a 3 hour film wedged into 106 minutes.

Not a bad starter kit for Greek mythology.

Not great, but hardly terrible.

We "Could" do that... But then all we'd have to bitch about it the time that we lost.  I like it much better this way.  This way I can bitch about the money and the time I lost.

Oh... My... Christ.  I just got through watching this and I have to say, it's quite simply one of the WORST films I have ever seen - my brains are practically pouring out my ears.

I agree, Fox, it's pure crap!

Watched it last night - was thinking it would be a popcorn movie, but after the end credits I felt a little blah about it.

- Too much story packed into 106 minutes, therefore it felt rushed. The story lacked depth in my opinion - just moved from one scene to the next.
- Good special effects, though I have to agree with Balt - the climax was very anti-climactic. A waste of screen time indeed.
- Shallow, shallow characters. A hodge-podge thrown together. Don't understand it.

Basically the film lacked any impact for me. It just sort of came and went.
