The Cabin III: The Continuous Evil Continues by Paradox Melcur - Short, Horror - Stories of death and doom continue to waste time in the cabin where nothing good happens...ever. 10 pages - pdf, format 8)

It started out really well then sort of just dissolved.   I suppose it was an adequate follow-up but it proves this is actually not a trilogy and may in fact be a septology.

I think I know who wrote this but I'm not certain.  There's a couple of author asides in there that I think give it away.

Anyway, good work, I suppose, no,  bad work which was good, I suppose, no, forget it.

Quoted Text
We see the dark night of the nighttime as we hear party noises coming from inside the cabin that we see.

Best opening line. Ever.  ;D

As above, great opening line. I got a few chuckles out of this. Sure I would guess the author due to the references to Crash and Clash if I knew better. Good work. Nothing tops the original though IMO.

HaHa...some funny shit in here for sure.  Damn, someone beat me to the punch.

I agree that it was really funny up front but lost it midway, as well as the end.  Although it was abysmally written, it was still way too coherent and thought through.

Wait till you people get a load of my Cabin!  Bwoohaha!!!!!

Who wrote this anyways?  Love how it was done in Word...

I too thought that first line was classic.

Besides that though - and here's a comment I never thought I would write in a script review - this was TOO good. It's just not awful enough.

This was okay. Didn't really get any laughs out of it though. Actually, after reading this and then going back over mine, I kind of regret writing the first sequel. Also, the prospect of people writing more of them makes me cringe a little. I don't think anyone will ever be able to do the first one justice. Does that mean people shouldn't try? No, but lampooning the same source material will get old quickly.

Well, that went over like a production contract for The Cabin. Since it already died, I'll own up to it. The idea was something rather abysmal, and it turns out I tried too hard. I should have at least mixed up some characters or left out a slug or something. Instead, I tried to make it make sense and when I realized I was over-complicating it, I randomly abandoned it. Didn't work either way. Too good to be worthy of its title, but too bad to be any good.

I will admit that I crack myself up sometimes, though. I'm glad I amused some of the rest of you as well.

Finally, someone fesses up. Gotta admit, I thought this would get more attention then it did.

Loved the opener as I stated, but then it was too good. I still can't believe how few commented on this...

Good work George...

LMAO...

I think George declared himself guilty a couple of posts above.  :)

I think Pia just refuses to believe it.

My precious?  Huh?

Good job, George!  Needed to be worse though, as you realized.  Some funny stuff though for sure.

My precious?  Huh?

My laptop. We are always together. It sleeps under my pillow at night and my family has been instructed to bury it with  me should I die soon...

seriously...

Yes, Pia, hard as it is to believe, I am responsible for this one. Now I should really do something legit...but I have another Fempiror book to write, or the guy in the cube next to me will never stop nagging me about it. Thanks to those who got a kick out of it.

So...does a gratuitous, x-rated orgy (including recently deceased characters) kick off after the credits roll, or what?

Duh, of course. A little necrophilia sequence was just what this series was missing.

So this is a script about a bad film? Sorry - it didn't work for me. I felt that it was too much of a mess, and didn't leave me with enough to zero in on - trying to figure out the contortions was more of a test than an intrigue.

I'll give you that it was different and you have a lively imagination - but I think the imagination needs to be applied to something more worthy.

Simon, you need to check out the original "The Cabin" to see what this is all about.  It is 1 of the very worst written scripts of all time.  The original is also an influence to my OWC script, "Of Cannibals and Cabins".  The other influence (of my OWC) is also 1 of the very worst scripts every written..."Chris Halverson's Cannibal".

Both scripts are posted here, but way back, as it was a few years ago they came out.

Good to see you reading and posting in here!  Nice work, bud.

If you want a good laugh, I could E-Mail you both scripts, as I saved them so I could construct my masterpiece for the OWC.

Dreamscale actually did a much better job at writing something bad than I did. That Cannibals and Cabins really sucked...I was impressed.

Thanks, George!  I really tried to make it terrible.  I even started out with the exact opening of "The Cabin".

HA!!!
