SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...  /  Hi all
Posted by: frXNtier, May 8th, 2010, 1:31am
Hi all, thought it might be an idea to put up bit of an introduction. I signed up to this site over a year ago, but I thought (at the suggestion of a good friend of mine) I might start getting involved again. I'm interested in getting my writing skills up to scratch, and I thought this could be a great place to start.

Not much of an introduction, I guess. But at least you know who I am when I start randomly appearing all over the forums.  :)

FrXNtier

You've made the right move by coming back here if your looking to sharpen your writing prowess. I hope you can get as much out of the site as I have in the past 2 years.

Welcome.

Welcome to the boards!

We are a strange bunch here, but who's ever heard of a normal writer?  :)

Hows it going, man?  Where in Oz do you live?

Thank for all the welcomes, everyone! :)

@rendevous: Yes, another Aussie...! Don't worry we are a friendly bunch :)

@stevie: I'm good, Stevie :) Thanks for asking. I'm actually from Tassie. I'm staying up in Brisbane for a few weeks for work, though. Whereabouts are you based?

@me: I guess I will soon find out how strange you all are :P I hope you don't scare me off, though.

@Ledbetter: Hi Shawn, I'm working on some stuff at the moment, so hopefully I'll get it up to scratch soon and put it up for some words of criticism :)

@colkurtz8: I hope so, too. The friend who suggested me to the site seems to have gotten a lot of out, not only in terms of writing, but you also seem to have a great, friendly community here as well :)

Ah yes. Me been. You fellas are alright. Tassie? You don't live in a cave like Tp do you? How many toes have you got? Are you shure? Ihave eleven. Oops no. Nine. Nope. It's twelve now. I really musta cut down on da Jamieson. Barstard!

As you can tell me strange. I get stranger too. I'm having a row with a rude holidaying sock puppet at the moment. He called me a primate. I do remember a shaved chimp running things a while ago but I am slightly higher up the evolutionary chain. As I can I actually string a coherant sentence together. And I won't get fooled again. Arse!

Biscuits. Where are my biscuits? Oh shite I ate em. Which is what I shall be doing to sock puppet's scripts shortly.

Fair warning.

God it's hot. Pass the suncream Sasha. Thankyou darling.

Love and Slainte,

R

*edges back in the room*

Oh good, he's gone. :P It was almost as if he was talking to himself...

And now I'm talking to myself.

*Turns to rendevous* Ok let's get this sorted. Yes I live in Tassie, however I don't live in a cave like my good friend Tp. I actually created my own wooden shelter, as I have more skill than he does with a hammer and various other mechanical tools. As for the whole toes thing, with all the mud that is around, it's been quite some time since I've actually seen them. So I'd really only be taking a guess.

And yes, you do seem strange. But I like strange. It's the only thing that keeps me from going insane. So keep it up.

Anyway, carry on.

Ahum. I'm always watching. I'm worse when I'm pist. You may get da truth.

Cheeky wee fecking pup for a newbie. I'll be watching you.

Handy with hammers? So am I. I can build a ship in mere days. Can ya cave boy?

Now then. I jest. Or do. He's gone. And he's back. It ain't narrow. Or slack.

You are now on my shitelist with puppet prick. The list grows.

Love and bliss,

Aah, so you're a mate of Tommys?  I ring the lad up every now and then to dribble shit.
I live on the Gold Coast but I'm a proud ex-Victorian who follows the Sainters.

@Rende(z)vous: I'm sorry, but I just have no idea what you're talking about. Who is this "puppet prick" you speak of? You can build a ship in mere days? Several thousand days I would guess.

Yes, I am cheeky. Watch me all you like. I like being watched. In fact, I enjoy it so much, I often watch myself.

@Stevie: Certainly am! Yes, he told me about your frequent phone calls. I won't go into too much detail, suffice it to say that his description of said conversations were basically the same as yours (i.e. dribbling sh*t). I like the Gold Coast. I think I might prefer Brisbane more. Because Brisbane. Is. Where. It's. At.

Out.

@Phil: You look strangely like the sock puppet that RV is currently losing sleep over. Would I be right?

@frXNtier: You don't want to mess with the sock.  You don't know where it's been.

Welcome to SS.

Here's a list of things I think are required...

- Read all of my scripts (you can find them randomly in my signature).
- Watch Computer Girl http://www.youtube.com/ComputerGirlTV
- Listen to every episode of Simply Radio (Simply Scripts) http://www.simplyscripts.com/category/simplyscripts-radio/
- Listen to every Soulshadows episode http://www.simplyscripts.com/category/soulshadows/  You can read the ones that don't have audio files.

There will be a quiz tomorrow.

I don't lose sleep. I lose my keys, my rags and my girlfriends. But I've never lost any sleep. Especially not about sox.

I think I need a holiday. Where shall I go?

Keep it warm.

Aw, man, another Aussie? How many are there of you guys? :)

Seriously, welcome (back) aboard, frXNtier, Enjoy your stay.

Cheers
Rob

PS: Don't fuck with the sock.

Why would I fuck with a sock? Can't I use my hand or something else.

I can't imagine sock sex is much fun. It would chafe a little. Wouldn't it?

I always wear odd socks. But then again. I'd an odd type.

Er. Sorry to give you an almost baptism of smouldering. Whiskey can do terrible things to people. And I was having a fecking laugh. I usually am.

Welcome again. Stick about. It does get more fun.

EDIT. I found a sock puppet. It was on holiday tho. It looked like onea mine. Needed a wash tho. So I waited till I got back and normal business resumed. Where are my nuts?

@mcornetto
Thanks for your welcome! I haven't done all my homework... :( But I will certainly be working on it :) Although, I somehow think that there are a few things on that list that might be a bit biased... e.g., having to read all of your scripts...  ::)

@grademan
Hi, Gary! Thanks for the welcome :)

@Sniper
Now, now, Rob. The Aussies are what keep the world sane. And there are a bit over 21 million of us. So not a huge amount, compared to that huge mass of land they call America.

@RV
Calm down. Sniper was telling me not to f*** with the sock, not you. Although you seem to have taken offence to the suggestion. It can be a good way to ensure a quick cleanup, though. So I would recommend it if you ever get the chance.

That's what you should do with all sock puppets.

By the way, you're my new best friend. Call me every five minutes. :)
