SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Things you are looking for  /  Looking for a full feature script.
Posted by: makout, May 11th, 2010, 7:24am
Hi Writers,

We are group of Graduate film students and want to make a full feature film.

We are looking for a family drama script, with some dark secrets and a happy ending.
It should be a one story line script that would be easy to shoot. We do not want a script with many story lines, different characters going thru different issues. We just want a simple story line and a feel good ending.

Place such as a school, church, bar and the regular home environments are fine. Do not submit a story that would require set design CG, explosions, war or anything like that.

Faith based or religious are most welcome.
Keep the sexual content and the language to a minimum.

Here are the Rules and the deal:
This will be a non budget film. We only have $6K to make the film. We already have all the equipments to shoot and edit the movie and we need is a script.

What you will get:
We will provide full credit and copies of the final movie to the owner of the script and you retain the right to your script.

If the above option is not acceptable, please send your requirements.

We may also agree to some financial compensation if needed. We will discuss this option once we talk to you.

Do not submit your script to us if you are looking for a Hollywood deal. We are only looking for a writer who wants to take a chance by exposing his/her work.

This would be beneficial to us as film makers and to you as a writer.

Please remember, it not easy to have a script made into a film no matter how great the script may be. Do not be too hard in submitting your script. You never know who would be watching.
Thank you and good luck.

I don't have anything for you but I know that the ones who do will most likely ask you this:

- Have you produced anything before?
- If yes, can we see it?

Happy hunting.

No offence but. I like ta tell it how I think it is...

I stuck it till 0.21 but then the download speed and the wait didn't seem worth it.

All seemed reasonably pro until around that point. But there's only so many mintues left in the day.

And the internet is a huge place. I like YouTube more these days. They seemed to have improved quite a bit of late.

You're doing the work and that is to be respected and credited.

Actors need a great director to bring out the best in them. My favourites are Kubrick, Fincher and Hitchcock. Cameron's ex also springs to mind. Er, I mean James, not David the naughty devil.

Keep it rolling. You never know.

R

I wish you luck. The best of it.

makout,

Rendevous can be bit complex, so I've taken the liberty of translating his message for you.

No offence but. I like ta tell it how I think it is...
I always say what's on my mind...a hat

I stuck it till 0.21 but then the download speed and the wait didn't seem worth it.
I started drinking hard liquor at about 11:00 A.M. which in turn elevated my blood alcohol level to 0.21 and now I'm experiencing the following symptoms: Stupor, Loss of Understanding, Impaired Sensations, Severe Motor Impairment,Loss of Consciousness, Memory Blackout...uh, what was I saying?

All seemed reasonably pro until around that point. But there's only so many mintues left in the day.
What time is it?...hey, where's my clock?

And the internet is a huge place. I like YouTube more these days. They seemed to have improved quite a bit of late.
YouTube, me tube, we all tube for YouTube...Scooby-Dooby-Doo! ...hey, where's my TV?

You're doing the work and that is to be respected and credited.
Good job, mate!

Katherine Bigelow, Hurt Locker, Big Bang

Keep it rolling. You never know.
Where's my car keys?

Hope this helps  8)

Back on topic...I just checked out the trailer you posted. The production looks good but the sound could be a little better in certain places. Just saying. Also, in my opinion, the trailer needs to be a little shorter - faster in a sense. I think you could cut 30-45 seconds off of it to give it that "proper" pace, if you know what I mean.

Is the full movie available somewhere?

I do not want to offend anyone, but did I post this in the wrong board? I will be happy to move it where there are serious writers who want to work professionally.
I will wait for a response from the moderator of this blog then I will remove my post.
I cannot believe how a serious request can turn into a joke.
Anyway, I want to thank those that were professional enough to understand the request and submit their scripts or offer to write one.
Thanks

You have posted a perfectly reasonable request, Makout, in the proper place.

You have handled yourself in a professional manner.

And you had the misfortune of posting on a board of writers -- a strange breed who believe that every whimsical notion that pops into their head is worthy of sharing with the world -- so that it might be read by everyone.

Obviously, this is not the case.

But we have learned to live with it.  Some boards are more serious than others, and we have fairly tight community here that does enjoy their banter -- for better or worse.

Perhaps you will indulge the denizens of this board a bit more -- as there are many talented writers here -- and I am now directing them to behave. **wags finger**

Give ol' Makout a break, OK?  He has asked nicely.

Anymore nonsense and deletions will ensue.  [Edit:  Cleaned things out anyways.]

Makout, you did post this in the right board. Like anywhere else, you have a mix of people that are around. Some do this for a hobby. Some hope to learn. Some are just screwing around. And some are dead serious. The serious ones have already contacted you, no doubt, meaning you post found its audience. Once you get your initial reply, things tend to spiral out of control more often than not. Sometimes this is done by the serious ones, but more often it's a bit of fun that is probably misplaced.

I assure you that there are people here that can deliver what you're looking for.

Happens all the time around here... Went to a fight and a hockey game broke out.

Hope you find the right script to serve your purpose.
