I think it's due time this flick got its own thread. It still looks ridiculous but from the looks of the trailer, I think it's finally evolved from just a spinoff. I've decided I'm gonna have a little fun and let myself get completely caught up with the hype. I really think this could be Rodriguez's masterpiece (Sin City doesn't count; it's more Frank Miller's masterpiece than anything). Even if it sucks, the trailer will still be epic.

You gotta love the cast for this one. What an absolutely bizarre mix. Robert de Niro in an RR film? Awesome! Love him mean mugging at the end of the trailer. I also love how Rodriguez is trying to pull a Tarantino and revive the careers of out-of-work actors. I think it's hilarious that the ones Tarantino picks are actually good and the ones Rodriguez picked are terrible! Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan, Don Johnson?! WTF?! This is gonna nuts!

Thoughts?

Ha, ha that trailer is hilarious. Was it just me or did a character produce a weapon/fire a weapon in practically every shot during those 2 minutes and 1 second?

In your list of out-of-work actor revivals you omitted the best (I think anyway) of all: Jeff "Lawnmower Man" Fahey. Now there’s an jittery, unhinged bastar?d I'd like to see again.

p.s. I checked out Fahey on IMDb and learned he's been in “Lost” for like 30 episodes and just remembered he had a part in Planet Terror too, oh well.

Still, all hail the mad eyed one!

Looks f'ing awesome. Waaaay over the top. Yeah, a couple of has-beens and never-will-bes but at least it's got Michelle-may-I-please-suck-on-them-titties-Rodriguez in it.

Did I read it wrong or did it say "Introducing Don Johnson"? Hah - that's humor.

Awesomeness. This is why I want to write movies. This is based on one of those fake trailers featured in "Grindhouse", by the way.

Now, that's my kind of guy.  :)

I'd see this one.

And Cheech, "I'll see what I can do."  hahaha

Looks awesome...awsomely bad, but something I look forward to.

I remember seeing Grindhouse at the theater and thinking how funny (and cool) that trailer was for Machete.  And now, here we go...

Could be really cool...has that Desperado vibe going.

Let's hope it delivers.

This trailer sold me, but I can't help but wonder how this film got made.  I mean, Grindhouse flopped hard, so why would anyone invest in this?  Have tongue-in-cheek movies proven to be a good sell for mainstream audiences?

I hear ya, Dressel.  These type of things just completely have me perplexed.  I don't get it at all.

There has to be something going on that none of us are privy to...as in how these movies are making money.  I mean, Grindhouse had a reported budget of $67 Million!  It's take at the BO was $25 Million, and basically nothing overseas at all, which is also weird, as I thought QT was quite popular over there.

It must have recouped that money somewhere, somehow, but I sure don't understand it.

How much cash could it do on DVD sales and rentals?  Movie channels?  Hmmm, no clue.
