The trailers look pretty tight.  Packed with lots of actions too.  The new guy playing McGarrett... Alex O'Loughlin, the jury is still out on him.  Jack Lord was a legend in the original series.  I'm glad to see Grace Park in the mix.  And I was glad to see them pay tribute to the theme song, of course they had to put a new spin on it, but I think I like the original version better.

Lots of mixed reviews out there.  I for one look forward to checking it out.  If any Hawaii Five-0 fans, feel free to weigh in.  Trailer below....

I'm gonna give this one a look when it comes out.  I had never seen the original until a couple years ago, when they started showing it on a local channel.  The original is an absolute classic and actually had very good writing.

But the original also had one thing you cannot replace:  Jack Lord's hair.  It was awesome, like a black wave rolling over his head.  That thing had powers.  And Lord was such an over the top presence, I think his charisma was a big reason for the show's success.   It''s going to be very difficult for this show to replace the strange chemistry that the original cast had.   Not a big fan of Scott Caan, and I don't really know enough about O' Loughlin.  That theme music is a pale imitation of the original.  Needs work.

The thing I loved about the original was...you couldn't beat Steve McGarrett.  No matter how ingenious your plan was and how close you were to getting away with it, McGarrett was always one step ahead of you.  My favorite episode was this one where a group of like a hundred and fifty thieves charters a flight from the mainland posing as tourists.  They come to Hawaii and runs all sorts of scams.  They collect a couple million dollars.  They are celebrating on the plane on the tarmac, waiting for the flight to begin back to the States.   Then you hear the voice on the intercom:  "This is not your captain speaking.  Flight time is about 8-10 years.  Thank you for visiting Hawaii."  McGarrett walks out from behind the curtain.  "Aloha.  Aloha suckers."  Haha.
