Imagine Melvin Udall on a message board, especially if he surmised you were gay.

The measure of a good writer is what they absorb from life and then use in their fiction. Conflict and violence are all around us, from road rage to the daily TV news, from daily interaction with family members (particularly teenagers) to disagreements on message boards.

All of it is great ammunition to weave into characters within your screenplay.
