Outcast is a taut tale of Celtic witchcraft set against urban decay.
High on atmosphere and low on cheese, it tells a simple story.
It never sensationalizes, but stews in its own juices on a slow burn.
James Nesbitt anchors the film, his rage is like a dull hum in every word he utters.
He gave a knockout performance in the stellar BBC series, "Jekyll".
It's this quiet dread that drew me into the film.
It may also be why the film is struggling to find U.S. distribution.
A solid debut from a veteran BBC director. I hope he gets another shot.
Seek out Outcast, its a couple cuts above most genre driven drivel.
