Hey guys! Found out early yesterday that the final cut of SOUVENIR (http://www.simplyscripts.com/scripts/SOUVENIR-steel.pdf) was finally finished! It's been almost three years and I'm happy to share it with you guys.

And someone with more skills than I do can make this post look pretty.

Thanks and enjoy!

(There are some major differences between my script and the final cut, by the way.)

I was referring to the two films or more club.  We're cooler.  And our parties have open bars...

Austin,

Way to go! You must be proud!
I read your script and watched the film for the first time today.
Pretty cool all the way around.
The film seemed to capture the spirit of your words.
How did you feel about the revisions?
Honestly, a line about why can't Tom write the script by hand would have been nice.
Something quick with Bob over the phone or something.
That was my first thought, but it's a small quibble.
There were a couple of minor continuity errors with the clock and vanishing smokes.
I thought the Boston accent and Red Sox cap were cute.
Though I did a double take when I saw the Jitterbug in there.
It's a toy shop in SLC, stopped there once on my way down to Provo, great location.

Thanks for sharing your hard work!

Regards,
E.D.

Thanks guys!

E.D., we worked on the revisions together. My original script is a bit long with a lot of character development which he liked, but he wanted to make a shorter script. I enjoy the movie but I'm not 100% happy about it. He makes a glaring Filmmaking 101 error, and the smaller stuff with the clock.

I was really glad Will, the main actor, decided to do this, after seeing him in another film (same director, too). I hope we all three work again.

But I now have two produced scripts, which is more than I had last year. I'm starting school again, so it's nice to have a leg up on my classmates.

I'm going to try to direct my own JESSICA this semester, if I'm able to. I love my script a whole lot more than the movie.

It's been a while, but I remember this one, too, Austin.

Congrats on getting it produced. It's always so cool when someone says they like your script enough to invest their time and money into it.  :)

I think it turned out pretty neat.  :)

Good luck with school. :)

hey everyone, thanks for commenting and critiquing the film. Awesome to see that it got on the front page here on the website. Guess I have Austin to thank for that cause I'm pretty sure that's where the majority of the views are coming from.

Anyway, i understand some of your critiques. I'm originally from Massachusetts and a couple of years ago I was planning on filming this script then and there, but I just didn't have the location and typewriter then. I'm currently a student in Utah. This past October we filmed at my friend's apartment and that Antique shop we used, there's nothing like those that I've seen at all when looking for one in MA. So it seemed best to film in SLC of course, but I really didn't want the story to take place in Utah. Boston I feel is the perfect city for a guy who hates people to live because.... Well.... When Bostonians give you a reason to dislike them, they're good at delivering one that's worth it.

Also, I noticed that the longer version of Austin's script is on here for comparison. I actually based the film on an earlier draft that was shorter. I only borrowed some smaller things from the longer one.

This one here is closer to what I used for shooting and contains some of my edits.

Thanks again everyone!
