Hi,

I am looking for good tv writing books, (shows and miniseries) for my students. Could anyone give me an insight on a few. Or even better, direct me to a place where I could read a few proffessional reviews (amazon user reviews doesn't do it for me).

Thanks.

For comedy and drama, THE TV WRITER'S WORKBOOK by Ellen Sandler is one of the best.

For sitcoms, ELEPHANT BUCKS by Sheldon Bull as well as WRITING TELEVISION SITCOMS by Evan Smith.

For drama WRITING THE TV DRAMA SERIES by Pamela Douglas.

SMALL SCREEN BIG PICTURE by Chad Gervich good for business side of things.

Larry Brody's Television Writing from the Inside Out is quite good for hour drama.

Alex Epstein's Crafty TV Writing and Martie Cook's Write to TV arew worth looking at as well.
