Finally got around to seeing this the other night.  I was pretty disappointed.

Other than the horrific acting and cheap looking sets, I thought the original Saw was great.

I actually liked Saw II, as well, for what it was.

I didn't like the direction Saw III took and pretty much didn't like the movie. I could see the premise was wearing thin.

I wasn't sure about what i thought about Saw IV.  I guess it was OK, and much better than III, but I was definitely losing interest in the franchise.

Then Saw V comes along and I was actually very impressed.  IMO, easily the best since I and II.

I thought Saw VI really blew...easily the weakest of the bunch.

And so we get to The Final Chapter, released in 3D in the theaters.  Damn...not good..not good at all, IMO.

There was alot of gore on display here and alot of it was well done.  Other effects weren't as well done, which always surprises me...if they can get some of it right, why not all of it?

All these films have gotten by with pretty low budgets.  This final installment gets the biggest budget, yet it's only $17 Million, and maybe much of that went into the 3D effects?  I don't know.  Overall, it looked better than the rest but the story just sucked, and there wasn't any reason to care for any of the characters except maybe Jigsaw's wife.

I'll admit, there a few twists in the last 10 minutes that worked pretty well and were well done and hidden, but other than that, it's quickly and easily forgotten.

Not the way to go out, IMO.
