The days are getting shorter. The day are getting colder. The trees are bare and foreboding.
There are certain films I like to revisit this time of year. Some of them even share elements with our recent gothic OWC. I'd like to list some of those films with our members throughout the season. Have one of your own? Please embed a link in the thread.
This one covers just about every gothic element, save for romance. Let us look into autumn's mirror and see what darkness it holds within...

Michael Dougherty set out to make the ultimate Halloween holiday movie. I've met the man, he's a total jack o'lantern junkie! This $12 million movie looks gorgeous, delicious atmosphere to spare. And some pretty decent allegorical storytelling too with wry humor. I've added this one to my autumn lists, take a look for yourself.
Don't forget the rules for Halloween night or little Sam will pay you a visit... Wear your costume, hand out treats and never blow out a jack o'lantern. And whatever you do, always check your candy.

This one is a triple threat winner... Autumn/Halloween. New England & Ghosts. Yay! A sentimental favorite tale, I met Lukas Haas on the Wizard of Loneliness set. He did two indie films in New England back to back. He was pretty excited about the Lady in White, sadly, it never got a good theatrical run. But still made $2 million on a hundred screens in 1988. Not too shabby. An intensely nostalgic ghost story for kids that didn't dumb down the story. Enjoy!
