Just curious if we're sticking to traditions and doing one of these in January?  :)

I really hope it is, I thoroughly enjoyed the last one.

The last time I asked Don (a few weeks back) he said he was behind in things.  I'll ask him again.

It would be great to know.

I have a few things to organise in the next month and if possible I would like to make time for this. Nice to support.

If possible, a little prior notice would help.

Having looked at a couple of previous challenges.. someone in a wheeel chair... its on like Donkey Kong! (had no idea what that meant) i get the feeling something harder than the last two could be on the cards.

Is there a typical style of theme used for this time of year?
Like the Horror in October type deal.

I think a January OWC is a good idea. Start the New Year off right.

No. It can be anything. Last year at this time I think we did one for Rick to film and a Star Trek one. The interesting thing about the ST OWC was that many people here especially from other countries and also young people were not familiar enough with the show.

It's been years since we did a western....  ;D

Western!!! Wow, I've ever thought about writing a western, what fun. I doubt I would ever do one unless in an OWC.

Funny you mentioned that, I was thinking about Red Sun this morning.
And how there were a couple side stories in that universe I'd like to tell. ;D

A western sounds like a great idea. Who doesn't love westerns?

Indians aren't that fond of them.

Eek.  I'm really not familiar with Westerns, at all.  (Besides the Magnificent Seven.)

Talk about expanding past my comfort zone!  :)))

Only western I've ever read is Red Sun. I'd be game, though. Westerns as a short...hmm. As a short, could be tough.

Owe, I've also read the western about Limp Wristed Larry!

I think there's a script called "Red Storm" floating around the site too.
Mark Lyons also had a short about barbed Western vengenace.
Then there's Paramour's! http://www.simplyscripts.com/scripts/Paramourns.pdf

Western sounds like a lot of fun.

Be great if the option could be left open to do a Western set in the modern day.

Sounds weird, but one of my favourite films is bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia...that always seemed like a Western to me, even though it wasn't set in the Old Wild West.

I'm sure there are others of a similar vein...

Or another Asian-type of Indians:

I think a western would be cool. I wrote this one, Savage Frontier in -06. One of my first scripts. I think I've matured since then. At least I hope so.  ;D

There was a sweet Aussie production last year that fit this bill, called "Red Hill".
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1530983/

And Peckinpah did it again with the McQueen film, "Junior Bonner".

I know a Western may not readily lend itself to production, but sounds fun to write!

Don't tell me what to do!  Nobody!  I have a cool idea that I'd like to throw in your faces.

Long as it's not a western or a romantic comedy I support your cool idea.

Mr. Z wrote one that got produced. It looked awesome!! Can't remember the title right now.

And btw, no one has said it will be western. It's either Don or Phil that decides this. I just mentioned it because it's been like 6 years since we did that.  :)

I may pick horror, just to screw with your minds.

I actually have a different idea I want to try

I'd rather do a western than a horror.

I'm just putting it on record.

That is all.

I haven't heard from Don.  He decides when, and if, we do it.
