Have just started this book by Robert Lyndon.

It's set in 1072, and tells the story of a quest by various characters across Europe, to secure 4 valuable hunting falcons to pay the ransom of a captured knight.

It is sort of similar to TLOTR in style but has great detail in showing the way of life in Medieval England.

There's fighting, blood and gore, sea adventure. I'm up to page 100 and they haven't scratched the surface yet of the epic quest.

Read the blurb on the back and you will be hooked. This would make a top mini series.

Highly recommended by me, which is always good value as I don't waste time on shite books

Cheers stevie

PS- blame this fucker for stalling the finish of my new comedy... Lol

Finished this last night in a 200 page session!

Great book, has gone into my top 10 already. The action tapers off a little near the end but no prob.

The best parts were the trek from Nothern Russia - then called Rus - fighting off nomads, Lapps, etc - to Anatolia, which is modern day Turkey.

Would love to see this done as a two or three part tv mini series - a full screen movie might do it justice unless it was nearly 4 hours long.

You won't be disappointed...
