Woah! ;D So, I was looking through the new 7WC thread and asked Michael if Found Footage can zone into Enter the Void, which was a no btw. :'( Anyway, intrigued by the Cloverfield script he posted, I decided to look at the script for Enter the Void. I'll post the first two pages here to see what people think about it...

Sorry about the massive size. :-/ I didn't mind the format, it was well-written IMO.

"The IRREVERSIBLE script was never a script, per se. It was only a three-page outline, which the actors improvised all the way through. Noe didn't even have them rehearse because he didn't want to risk losing spontaneity."

(and BTW, it bombed at the Box Office, returning something like $300k from approx $13-16m. Bummer).

I read this draft after I watched the film. Its unconventional structure can be taxing and I suspect the pedants would run a mile, then again, the film doesn't exactly stick to formula. It a very subjective film in more ways than one so perhaps a subjective script was required. Liked it the first time, loved it on the second viewing, very powerful and moving experience if you can stick with it.

I heard that too about the 3 page outline for Irreversible, an astounding piece of work. The improvisation and naturalism really comes through in the more talky scenes, particularly when they’re on the train and at the house party.
