EDIT:

I know that I'm no longer a contributing member, so at the risk of sounding crass, I have a music video on this site for a contest and would really appreciate it if you would go watch it and if you enjoy it, rate it positively.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I don't mean to be a b[{<~, but I personally don't like when people pop up and say, hey vote for me. Why? Is it genuine if people that don't know you or what you are offering vote for you?

Let the best person win...just MHO.

Well that's obviously why there's a video on there for them to listen to before they make up their mind. By clicking on the link, you get to see exactly what I'm offering. I'm just asking people to go to the link and consider voting for me. The point of the contest is to advertise your video and get votes. I apologize if that offends you or motivates you to be a "b".

I swear, I don't think I've seen a thread go by that someone hasn't felt the need to be a contrarian.

Hello Chris!   :)

Long time no see.  Anyway, as much as I would like to help you, I still feel the same about people that pop up at websites to ask for votes, especially when they are not really part of the community anymore. If you were an active contributing member, people might want to help you out, but just showing up to ask for votes is "crass". Nothing personal, I used to be one of your biggest supporters.

And btw, you did ask people to follow the link and rate your video 5 stars...

I contribute occasionally as often as I have time. I left feedback on a script last week I do believe.

But again, I'm not asking for anyone to "help me out". They can go and listen to the video and make up their mind. I was simply advertising it for them to do so as there is no other way to get people to view your stuff. I'm not asking someone to blindly throw money behind a film they've never read the script to or buy a DVD they've never seen a trailer for. I'm asking them to go listen to a video of me playing music and rate it. If they don't want to, good for them. Nothing crass about or different than posting a short film or screenplay and asking for feedback or support.

But you're entitled to your opinion. As unnecessarily contrary as it might be. No offense, of course.

I appreciate your former support.

And obviously I was asking them to rate it positively if they enjoy it.

The last time someone asked me to vote their work up I did because I didn't anticipate how this person would turn into such a jerk afterwards.

But I like your music a lot more than this other person's work, so I helped you out :)

And as I remember you from the past, you are smart and a fast learner.

I applaude you for altering you original message!...............I can't really vote though, because I'm musically challenged and know nothing about music.

Good luck though and best wishes for your future.  :)

Btw, last I remember from you was a feature you and your friends were shooting. How did it turn out? What did you learn and where are you as far as writing and filming goes?
