where none of the characters are morally right or "good" per se - not even the protag - yet, they all have a happy ending?

Think of a movie where it seems like one of them has to die, but in the end they see eye to eye.  I can't think of any off the top of my head and i want to check a movie along these lines to see if it works.

I realize when i ask questions like this, that me not so articulate... so im not sure this even makes sense.  thanks though.

Do you mean where the antagonist and the protagonist end up in some kind resolution, where they no longer oppose each other? Different variations, none probably exactly what you're looking for.

Silence of the Lambs maybe? Though agent Starling is pretty much just good. It's an odd happy ending, as a serial has escaped, but there is something about Lecter that you want him free. He lived up to his end of the bargain with the authorities and he was being screwed.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels?  None of them are morally good, and it has a happy ending.  No threat of death though.

Seraphim Falls, starring Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan.

Not all of that film 'works', but that's not down to the fact that they decide just to go their separate ways at the end.

Spiderman 3.  Bahaha!

Will Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The bad guy turns out to be Willy's man. So it all works out in the end. No one's perfect, the kid and the grandfather mess up, Willy can be a hard ass. They are basically decent, though, so not the conflicted characters you're probably looking for.

Can't think of one with all the characters fitting that bill, but Billy Bob Thornton is thoroughly reprehensible and he gets a happy ending in BAD SANTA. He did take a bunch of bullets to get the pink elephant to Thurman Merman though...

God I love that movie...
