Fade In is a wondrous app if you have an android phone and are often on the go... I love my Sophocles and Movie Outline -- but Fade In made me a believer when Facespace shot me a side bar heads up about it.

I just wish I could have all the money I've spent on the various junk writing programs out there so I could've tossed more than 100 bucks these guys' way.  It really is the best "cheap" software on the market.  Fully capable.  Fully custom to your taste.  Totally user friendly and 100% worth the money.  It's like 50 bucks now too!!!!  My only concern with it, is the online only gig... That bothers me because I and many others got burned with Sophocles.  Luckily "Fade In" doesn't use a proprietary file system like sophocles did.  This will ensure you always have your material and are not in jeopardy of ever losing it if the company goes belly up -- which it probably will once the Final Draft idiots get wind of how much better it is than their software.  They'll buy up these guys like they bought up Sophocles.

It cripples Final Draft 8, by the way.    The other software you listed, the free one, I've yet to give it a go -- but I'm not sure I can stomach another "free" writing app after the last go around with Celtix.

Couple things of note to consider before rushing out and buying FADE IN:   Both have to do with the title page too.

1.  There is no -- I repeat NO title page viewer.  You can edit it and that's it.  You get no feel for how it looks until you print it.  This is a bit absurd to say the least, but it's a small quib given it does print them off nice.  Save for "see #2"
2.  The fact they have your contact info over on the left and your copyrite info on the right.  It's, again, absurd.  I changed it around, but it's still lame.

These are really the only hang ups I have other than not having Character dyads to see how awesome you are at writing dialogue... But only Sophocles had this so I can't get to upset at the other, inferior software on the market.   That is ultimately why I've always stuck with Sophocles and probably always will... It's the most complete, to this day, software you can own.

But Fade In is good.  Just different and missing a few things.

I tried the demo of Fade In.  It is a very nice program.  I agree that not being able to view the title page is a pain.  Trelby has a viewer, and you can tweak and re-view it as you go.  Both are nice pieces of software.

An ex-black ops agent is pressed back into service when the madman responsible for his fiancée's death launches an evil scheme to kill the leaders of the free world.

Based on template:

When an ex-secret agent is forced to return to duty, he has to overcome the death of his fiancée or risk the end of the free world.

Just to let everyone know, T.J., the flellow who has the Script Toolbox website is an awesome guy.  I wrote him with a question on using POV and he answered next day.  I just wrote back with a second question, and he answered within a couple hours!!  This guy is out to help, and I advise everyone to take a look.  We're all here to learn, and his resource can not be ignored!
