Hey Guys!
I'm running up the S.O.S. flag on a conundrum I'm pondering...
There's a speed boat chase in the spec I'm writing for a studio producer. I need recommendations for your favorite boat chase scenes in a movie to research.
Off the top of my head I've got...
Face/Off Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade World is Not Enough Quantum of Solace Sahara Striking Distance Speed II: Cruise Control The Italian Job Hard Rain Patriot Games
There's a chase at the end. Where the protagonist is after a plane.
Wow. Really? I must've totally blocked that. Then again, I haven't seen the film since it came out in theaters. I'll have to revisit the film. Thanks!
Regards, E.D.

Been trying to remember this title since yesterday -- finally just Googled it.
Old Bruce Willis movie called, "Striking Distance" -- if memory serves, the whole film is pretty much boat chases, as he is with the Coast Guard or some such thing.

Another Bond movie, "The World is Not Enough" The starting sequence where Bond rides some little awesome looking knight rider type speed boat down the river thames. The movie isn't great but it's a good scene.
Is it me or does Bond movies have a lot of speed boat chases. :)

Striking distance. There's a car chase scene. Not much boat action except for the end.

Darn, that isn't the one, then?
I know I remember some film where pretty much the whole movie is people haulin' butt around the Everglades in their speedboats.
The only thing that bothers me more is that you actually recall this film haha.

'Deliverance'.
You can't not call them boats. Not to mention, if some rednecks were trying to cork my keister, my kayak would be breaking water, land, and air speeds.
Plus, I have been told I have a pretty mouth.

You sure that's not Live and Let Die? That was set in the Everglades

Face/off is gonna be the best boat chase out there for a long, long time, in my opinion. Fun fact: that boat chase was actually in the script for Hard Target, but Van Damme insisted that instead of a boat chase, it be the helicopter/horse chase which is in the finished film. Woo therefore held onto the boat chase until he was able to fit it in to Face/off.

It might not be the whole movie but I remember some chase scene in the Everglades in Police Academy (5 if I’m not mistaken) but I think you would call them airboats to be fair? :)

And Speed II totally has one -- he jacks a speed-boat from that same poor guy from the first Speed, remember?
Wow Duff! You went above and beyond!
I've never even heard of Puppet on a Chain before. Gracias!

Granted this is probably not the type of "chase you are looking for, but do I get points for saying The Birds? The scene where the woman is on the boat and the guy notices her and drives to the dock to catch her. I hope that scene exists and I didn't just make it up in my head... Or maybe I should hope I did make it up in my head.

Hitch is always worth at least a point... Even movies like Torn Curtain have a merit or two! ;D

LOL!
I can't recall the scene either. The Birds is like Hitchcock's impression of Michael Bay... So, there should be a boat chase in there! ;D
