So, here is part of the reason why I have been mostly absent and was unable to finish/come close to finishing my 7WC script (which I WILL finish and I WILL read your scripts!)...

I spent the last month or so planning and shooting this video. Be sure to watch on a computer rather than a mobile device since annotations need to be enable for it to work. It's an interactive "choose your own adventure" experience based on a video game, so have your mouse ready.

Max Payne 3: Payneful Decisions

Hope you guys like it, an now that it's done, I should have more time to burn around the forums.

Felipe,
I don't blame you. I'm not usually a video game guy but this one caught my eye, just got it and holy shit it's fun! The gameplay so far is leaps and bounds above the storytelling, Max Payne sure does talk a lot?
It's funny that while I was playing I went into screenwriter mode a few times and groaned at the excess use of voiceover. It's kind of hard to ignore, especially when they literally put key phrases on the screen.  Anyway, good to see another S.S. who's hooked on the game, also noticed we're both from or in  L.A.. Hopefully all is going well for you here, I know it's not ideal at the moment.
Good luck,
Nate

Hey Nate,

I'm not sure if you're talking about the actual game that just came out or the video I linked to, but in either case, yeah the whole style of Max Payne is heavy on the voice-overs, so we were trying to emulate that with the video. We couldn't have too much of a story in the video since we didn't want to write something that wouldn't fit within the game world (the game was not out yet when we shot it), so we focused more on the action and world immersion. Hope that translated into the final product.

LA is treating me pretty well right so I hope it continues to. How are things for you?

Wow, my bad. I misread your initial quote, just thought you were another guy that got hooked on the game. I clicked the link, heard the theme music and saw the comic book sides and assumed it was gameplay from the game (I just got the game 2 days ago and sadly I'm only on the 2nd chapter). After watching your footage though, thought it looked great. Both the comic book stuff with the quotes and the live action footage are spot on.
Saw you already had 20k hits on youtube.
LA's pretty good for me at the moment, it takes some adjusting to, but I'm catching on.(By the way, there are 2 helicopters circling my apartment as I speak!)

Yeah a helicopter circled mine once. I went on the roof to see what was going on and they put the spotlight on me and said, "get back inside. Party's over..." there was no party going on. When did you move here?

that's awesome!
I moved here last year, I was casually walking down the street to my car off Santa Monica Blvd. at about 1 AM to get a late night snack (I dragged my feet to give the officer a heads up that I was approaching) and he turned and pointed a gun at me. My car was 50 yards away, I gave the weak, sad excuse "My car's right there, I'm just going out for a snack.") He told me, "Go back home... now!" I immediately turned around and sadly cooked the only thing I had in my apartment... Ramen Noodles. Beef flavor, ugh.
I saw the next day that it was part of the fire-bombing attacks that some nut-job had went doing around the city. Awful but thankfully that guy is locked away now.
