SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Things you are looking for  /  Fans of Godard, Buñuel, or Lynch?

Hi, I'm Anthony! I'm new to these boards.... just finished reading my first three scripts, thought I'd take a break....

I'm looking to get with some people that are fans of the film directors Jean-Luc Godard, Luis Buñuel, and/or David Lynch. Basically, I'm seeking fans of avant-garde, experimental, or surrealistic stories in cinema.

Reason being, I happen to produce and direct my own scripts, and I'm about to go into pre-production on a script I just submitted to these boards. Aside from feedback on the script (which I'm looking forward to!), I'd like to pick the brain of someone that's into these films....

You see, I plan on doing a Kickstarter fundraiser, and I would love to do some "market research", if you will, to see if my pitch video, campaign writeup, perks, and overall approach make sense for the project, and to see what I can do to strengthen the effort overall.

(And I promise, I'm not soliciting for money. I'll do that far more discretely....)  ;)

I know my target audience, and I'd like to actually connect with those people that might be interested in the film, see what makes them tick.

Anyway, enough of the rambling!

I'm excited to be on these boards, I can see a lot of great craftsmanship and creative energy being shared!

Welcome to the boards, Anthony.

I am definitely a Buñuel and Lynch fan (not as much Godard though I appreciate his role in film history).  I'll look for your script when it pops up.

Cheers,

Michael

I'm a big fan of Lynch and like some of Godard's work from what I've seen. However, I must shamefully admit that I've never seen any Buñuel, although he's been on that long list of mine for some time.

Either way, I'll look out for your script when it hits the boards.

Is one of his best known films.

There is also this film which he did with Dali, which you've probably seen..

My favourite, however, is The Avenging Angel but unfortunately I can't find a full version on the web that has English subtitles.
