For those of you who may have lost fdr/fdx or any editable screenplay file and only have a PDF left, you're in luck...

John August has created an application that can read, edit, and convert PDFs to final draft or text formats.

Pretty cool stuff. It might even revive projects for people who only had PDF files of old scripts and were too discouraged to type it all up again and continue working on it.

Hope it's helpful to you!

Now it's easier than ever to steal and alter a hapless writer's script! ;D

Producers can alter their reader's PDF so their writer doesn't get bent over notes.
But of course people would only use this wonderful application as a force for good.

Kidding aside... I tend to forget to save individual FDX drafts.
So, retro converting a PDF to revise a specific draft is very handy.
Thanks for the link!

E.D.

Looks good !!!

I have also done a cut and paste from a PDF into FD and then adjusted the action/dialogue/slugs etc

It works though probably takes a bit longer.

The future is now. Adobe Acrobat can open and edit a PDF file. This can be a good thing...Your proof reader or editor can use a Yellow Marker tool to highlight parts of text and leave notes in the margin. Slick, quick, paperless.
