Just wondered if any of you had entered Bluecat by the early deadling of July1st.

If you entered...did you get your analysis that was supposed to come by the 15th per the post on here a while back???

Bluecat is good, as Bert has stated, but I found out this year with my script Mourning At Midnight -- A very gory, visceral, mind bender of a script that got high praise from one highly regarded Analyst -- It wasn't Blue Cat's cup of tea.  And I'm good with that... I'll certainly be gunning for their main comp coming up with a late entry of Nov 15th this year with another script.  A more focused script.

I am looking, however, to do very well with the script in question in another contest.

Like Baltis, I intend to enter Bluecat as well this year with my first feature 'The Cure' and it will more than likely be Nov 15th too. Will post it here for some ass kicking and send it for coverage before I submit it.

I take it you entered Pale Yellow and haven't received any feedback yet? I wouldn't woory about it too much. They're probably backlogged. It's a popular competition. A reader for one of the big Hollywood agencies came to Dublin last December to give a talking on getting your script past the reader. According to him, they print out every script and go through it with a fine tooth comb.

Yeah entered on a script we wrote...it has coverage...got a consider....but it's a dramedy and we all know how well comedy type movies do in contests...so not thinking it will win in anyway really...prolly shouldn't have wasted the money, but yeah, I sent it in for early deadline.

Good luck with that Pale Yellow (sorry, I don't know your first name, or if i have seen it in a post, I haven't paid attention, apologies). Mine's a period drama, based on history, on the constroversial side, may not go down well with competition readers.

Coverage is never a bad idea per se, at a minimum you have a ball park idea of where you are as a writer.

Eoin...

We got a pass the first time we sent the script in. Didn't change a thing. Sent it to another company and got a "Consider" with some really good comments.

I'm a new writer. But thanks to this site, and Kev, I've learned quicker than the average bear. Still have miles to go and horses to feed.

Name is dena btw.

I think I read one of your enteries in the OWC, if memory serves me correctly . . . Kev is great at encouraging new writers, lending a helping hand and sharing ideas.
