SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...  /  Hello everyone!

I've been looking at this site for a while now and finally decided to join up. About me: I'm a literature and writing student at SUNY Potsdam and have taken numerous film studies and screenwriting workshops as well. I enjoy writing, although I definitely need much practice. I plan on posting some screenplays here once that's open again, as well as making some comments on some of your guys as well. Quid pro quo, right?

Exactly, Mr. Curt.

You should probably get started on leaving reviews so people can get to know you.

What type of genre do you like writing or reading?

Welcome, B Curt.

You are correct.  It is a Quid Pro Quo world here at SS.  Might as well jump in now and get started.  It will pay off quickly.

Hope you enjoy yourself here.

Greetings B Curt!

Quid pro quo is the order of business here.
While waiting for submissions to open back up, you can provide reviews.
I suggest making sure the author you read is an active regularly contributing member.
Yu can confirm this by tracking their posting history.
That way, you're likely to get some feedback in return! ;D

Regards,
E.D.

Hello BC

Well I think you've had enough advice so I'll just say hello and if you don't know, use the portal icon.

Welcome to the machine, Curt. Most everyone has given you good info, but here's something else.

Don't take negative reviews personally. For the most part, the people who review your scripts are trying to offer you some help, even if it might be veiled behind some harsh criticism. Just take what you can use, be appreciative of the read and move on. Best of luck.

I have no ego to bruise  ;) I always appreciate the helping hand, and I would hope that people are open and honest about any below par work I do.

Oh and to answer Gabe's question Action, adventure, sci-fi and comedies are some of my fav's. Two of my favorite films, for example, would be Alien and Die Hard. Great films and great scripts as well.

Welcome BCurt.

It's nice to see a newbie jumping straight on to the boards and get involved.  You seem to have a good attitude towards reading other members work too.  This will pay off when you post your own work.

Enjoy your time here, it's a very helpful place.
