Congrats Baltis on making the semi’s, looks like the only time any of us are going to see Frostbite is on the big screen the way things are going. ;D

And more importantly, I wish you a speedy recovery from your recent health troubles.

On a side note to Mark, should this be in the “general chat” thread? :P

I appreciate the well wishes greatly... I've been milling around, trying not to get too excited or overworked -- Kinda just in relax mode.  I go back to the doc's tomorrow, so we'll see on that front when it comes my way.  I'm hoping to get cleared for some gym activity, nature walking, or SOMETHING!!!!

As for Frostbite, I can't speak much of it right now -- I'm happy that it's doing well in the contest, but I'm certainly a long shot to win the entire thing:

However, spinets like these:

"This script, there's just nothing really out there like it.  Not in horror, not in anything."

"I don't know if it wants to be a drama, a horror, a thriller or what it wants to be.  But it's a joy to read."

I feel, even if it goes no further, that it'll certainly be picked up and produced.  It's got a lot going for it that horror scripts just don't have... Character.

Shawn, I finished Mission Style last night and was reading it saying to myself "This is easily going into the finals."  I'd hate to be up against your competition, my friend... Because I was sure it was a shoe in.

I'll post your Beat Sheet up soon and give you some more thoughts on it.

Darts, Balt!

Glad you're feeling better too.  The hospital picture made you look like a bloody Terminator or something.

I could imagine you rising from the bed, ripping out IV lines and stuff, while you made your way to the Page award ceremony... ;D  :o

Gratz, Balt. I remember the first script I posted here and how much it sucked but you gave some really helpful comments and basically that was one of the reasons I didn't stop writing. Frostbite sounds great, shame none of us can read it. :)

Congrats, Balt!  We're all rooting for both your speedy recovery and Frostbite's success.

It may be about time for a new SS Frostbite parody...Stevie??????

In all seriousness, we're all proud of your success, brother!

'Simply Psychopaths'

Log - A group of amateur scriptwriters steal 'Frosbite', a legendary screenplay. They must survive pursuit from the script's author, the assassin known as Baltis.

Cast of lunatics:

Dreamscale - author of Fade To White and endlessly unlaid...
Ledbetter - nice guy but still a nutter...
Leitskev - loves a good keyboard stoush. See also Dreamscale...
stevie - well hung but fucking crazed Aussie. The guy is 50 and still worships the Beatles...
sniper - Danish head banger. Madder than an apple strudel made by another madman...
bert - vicious moderator. Deletes without mercy. Semblance of sanity but not worth the risk...
Baltis - he's from Missouri. Nothing more needed to be said...

Thanks again for the well wishes everyone -- for my health and for Frostbite.  I'm sitting at the doc's as we speak, just took more blood test and did a stress test.  So I'm waiting on the word.

As for the script, if I can get to finals with it I can resub my current draft -- This is what I'm pulling for.  If I can make it there, no one will top it in the category.  It's leaner, it pops faster and moves incredibly fluid.  Not that the 116 page version doesen't, it just had about 6 pages of fat on it.  Good fat, tastey fat -- but fat none the less.

I gotta admit that I like the mysterious element concerning the script, though.  Not too many people know what it's about passed the situational log line.

Could be good or bad for marketing, though.  ;-)
